    • Tuppence: (on learning and the progress of her career) Each job you learn something new. It's important to build towards things otherwise you lose your mind, which I think I probably would have done a few years ago. I want to make films I like, with scripts that I love. That's what's important to me.

    • Tuppence: (on being determined professionally) The nature of this job is you have to be obsessed with what you do, you have to have the drive because you may have months of unemployment. No one is going to be able to deal with that if they're not obsessed.

    • Tuppence: (on her personality) I was very confident at home, a bit more shy at school.

    • Tuppence: (on her childhood) I liked to be in my own company, so when I came home from school I'd just go up to my room and hang out by myself. I wouldn't really have friends over or go to see friends much. I was quite geeky.

    • Tuppence: (on doing nudity on screen) I guess I just never had that embarrassment/shame barrier. I'm comfortable trying things out and I think there's no point unless you push it. I take a slightly European approach to nudity. I think the French and the Italians have a much more relaxed view of it. It's just part of life. Everybody has a body and it's not a big deal.

    • Tuppence: (on not being defined as "beautiful" has advantages) I don't think, as an actress, you want to be beautiful. It's actually a disadvantage because that's not where all the interesting parts lie.

    • Tuppence: (on considering herself beautiful) Absolutely not. It's funny hearing that because I was only today talking about my bad skin when I was younger. I still get it occasionally. I used to be self-conscious about it and every time it comes back I'm devastated.

    • Tuppence: (on working with Mila Kunis in Juppiter Ascending) I got on really well with her. The day before filming one of the scenes she was voted the world's sexiest woman, which must be a lot of pressure.

    • Tuppence: (on her career's ambition as an actress) It's about doing work you admire and things you'd like to go to see yourself as part of the audience. My main goal is to continue working and make a career out of it, rather than be a young actor who is around for a couple of years and then melts off the scene.

    • Tuppence: (on the direction of her career as an actress) I wouldn't like to be the next anyone. I'd just like to see how it goes and build my own career. I'd just like to be my own person.

    • Tuppence: (on working with director Danny Boyle) Danny Boyle is amazing. He was so unaffected by all his success and just brilliant to work with. He had to stop editing Trance in order to do the Olympics. He's so open, you don't realise he's directing you – he just has a chat with you between takes and is very subtle but, at the same time, gets a very precise result from you. He's perfected the art of directing.

    • Tuppence: (on performing on stage versus doing movies) I've become so relaxed on a film set, the idea of being on stage is terrifying but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

    • Tuppence: (on wanting to be an actress) I did a lot of things when I was younger – ballet, karate, singing lessons, drama – and this is the one that stuck. As I got older, I auditioned for drama school and shocked myself by getting in. I'm shocked and surprised to still be doing it.

    • Tuppence: (on not being related to Kate Middleton) Since Kate Middleton came around some people think I'm related to her but, unfortunately, there's no connection.

    • Tuppence: (on the origin of her name)It's what my grandma called my mother as a little girl and my parents decided to call me that. It's been handy. I haven't met another Tuppence so far, so people remember it. People think it's a stage name.
