U2

U2 was formed by drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. in Bono's hometown Dublin, Ireland. The band's members are vocalist Bono, guiarist/keyboardist The Edge, drummer Larry Mullen, Jr., and bassist Adam Clayton. The band was orginially formed when Larry Mullen, Jr. was 14 and put up ads in his high school. Later that day, Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton had shown up to audition. U2 gained fame when they released hits like: One, Vertigo, Beautiful Day, and Pride(In The Name Of Love). I love U2, and I think they are one of the best bands from the '80s. U2 has won many awards: 1 Golden Globe, 1 Sierra Award, and nominated for two Grammys. The band was also the 4th band to appear on the front page of Time magazine. Past bands have been The Who, The Beatles, and The Band.

U2 have some of the most amazing and lively rock/pop songs that I know inclduing the masterpieces of "Beautiful Day, Vertigo, Sweetest Thing, Elevation" and the list could go on and on and on. When U2 paired up with Green Day for the New Orleans aid song "The Saints Are Coming," the most amazing sounds were produced when two top bands worked together.

Almost since I was born I have been hearing U2 and my opinion is that they are one of the best bands of the worlds. U2 start around 1980 and have, since then, remain highly popular and that is because their music is just fantastic. They have the sixth place in more fan clubs in the United Kingdom and well that is saying something. Everywhere you go you can see that everyone knows the name Bono, Larry, The Edge, and Adam, because they are U2. Their albums become more and more sold as times goes by and they have remain a band since their beginnings, I admire them for doing that, since no much bands can stay together long. Their songs are beautiful, some more than others, but one of my all time favorite is "One" and "Beautiful Day" are great! I love U2!

U2 is such a great band, I think that it is one of the best bands ever, its almost as great as the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones, and well I think that this band is really influential because they give world tours, and every thing, and as many artist that get successful get selfish they did not and they still care for environment and all the diseases and poverty and that is what makes U2 such a great band, and my favorite songs from this group is none other than Vertigo, One, City of Blinding Light, and well practically any other song is my favorite. U2 is simply one of the best bands ever!

Along with Edge and Dik (guitarists), they come in with interest and signs up to join. Adam plays the bass here and there and Bono joins to sing. Together these members form and call themselves Feedback. After Dik left they did a farewell performace and left the boys alone for the first time.

They later called themselve The Hype. Then changed into U2.



Larry: I was in charge of the band in the first five minutes. But when Bono came along, I was out of the job.

One of the greatest bands of all time. I love the band. They have one of the greatest frontmen with Bono. Plus they have one of the greatest guitarists with The Edge. Larry Mullen is one of the greatest drummers and Adam Clayton is one of the best bassists. Great band. I love their songs, they keep outdoing themselves and keep releasing new hit after new hit. Plus Bono is great, because of his stance on poverty and aids. He is standing up for what he believes and in an age where music dictates the culture, U2 has been one of the only groups that has enough balls to try to change the world. Their songs like \"I still haven\'t found what I\'m looking for\", \"Beautiful Day\", and of course \"One\" are great. U2 rules!
