Valerie Perrine is an American actress and cover model, best known for her Academy Award nominated role in the 1974 hit film - Lenny. Born in 1943, Perrine grew up in various places during childhood as her father served a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. As a young adult, her entertainment career began as a Las Vegas showgirl and that exposure eventually helped land her a job as a featured model for Playboy Magazine in 1972. Perrine continued to push the boundaries of entertainment as she later would become the first American actress to expose her bare breasts on television during a 1973 PBS broadcast showing of the play - Steambath. In 1975, her career would peak as she played the part of a stripper named Honey Bruce in Lenny. Her performance earned her both an Academy Award and BAFTA award nomination for Best Actress, and she also went on to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award that same year for the role. Perrine would later become a supporting character (Eve Teschmacher) in the first two Superman films created in 1978 and 1980, before working on lower-profile projects later in her career.
