Vanessa Chantal was born to André and Corrine and has a younger sister, actress Alysson Paradis. Her first album was 1987's
Joe le Taxi which premiered when Vanessa was just 14 years old. Two years later, she starred in the film
Noce Blanche and was awarded the César (French equivalent of an Oscar) for Most Promising Actress. In 1991, she did the infamous ad for Chanel fragrance Coco in which she was dressed in feathers and portrayed a bird in its cage. The next year, she began working on an album in English, which she had now become fluent in, with then-boyfriend Lenny Kravitz.
… More Aside from her singing, she has acted in several other films including La Fille sur le Pont and Mon Ange, and has promoted 2004's Ligne Cambon handbags by Chanel and is now promoting their new bag collection entitled The New Mademoiselle. Vanessa released a new album in 2007 called Divinidylle, her first since 2000's Bliss.
On a more personal level, she has been in a relationship with Johnny Depp since 1998 and they have two children, Lily-Rose and Jack. In fact, Paradis's album Bliss was dedicated to Depp and their daughter (Jack hadn't been born yet).
