His first film appearance was in Felicity (1979) a low-budget, erotic fantasy film. Following Felicity, Wells played the psychotic Wez in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. He came to Hollywood, appearing in the John Hughes film Weird Science (1985), where he spoofed his psychotic image. Wells had a role in the Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick Commando (1985) and in Innerspace (1987) a science fiction comedy that also featured Martin Short and Dennis Quaid. Vernon Wells continues to act and is a favorite amongst Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fans following his role on the Power Rangers: Time Force television series.
