Would "Gone with the Wind" have been the classic it is today if it wasn't for Vivien Leigh? The beautiful "Barbie doll" actress, Vivien Leigh, may very well have put the famous movie "Gone with the Wind" on the map.
Today "Gone With the Wind" is still going strong with the likes of "Star Wars" and "The Lord of the Rings" for the most famous movie ever made. The novel was a best seller and the film was the most anticipated film in motion picture history. So when it came to casting the role of the most convent role of it's time, Vivien Leigh became a household name. With her beautiful looks, dimple smile and feminine voice, Vivien fell into the role of Scarlett O'Hara and made it her own. One can't imagine any other actress portraying the character.
In her other film roles, Vivien proved herself a talented and gifted actress. Once again Vivien out did herself as Blanche in "Street Car named Desire" and won an Oscar for it.
Too bad the life of a talented actresss, such as she, was cut short with illnesses, but she will be well remembered and appreciated for years to come.
