Flores, who lives in Toronto, was bitten by the acting bug in the Philippines where he was born and raised. "I came from a very musical family and growing up in the Philippines, music is all around you. I've played the trumpet since I was seven years old. My Dad loved music and played the piano and my brother, an engineer, plays the saxaphone. The arts are part of the lifestyle but, at the same time, frowned upon as a professional career."
As a student in Canada, Flores was "floundering in chemistry at the University of Toronto and playing the trumpet in the
… More orchestra" when his girlfriend, now his wife, encouraged him to pursue his creative talents. Deciding to take the plunge, he left the University, became successful working in real estate and studied acting at night. "I met a fellow Filipino at acting and he told me about an audition for `Night Heat.' I accompanied him to the audition with no expectations, but got a guest lead role and that began my acting career."
Flores continued his acting studies in New York City at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and at The Centre for Actors Study in Toronto. He also studied movement and dance at Richard Sugarman Ballet, Hart House Ballet and the Studio Dance Theatre in Toronto.
