Walter Sande

7/9/1906 , Denver, Colorado, USA

Birth Name

Walter Sande, born on July 9, 1906, was an American film actor born in Colorado. Starting as a musical director for 20th Century Fox before he began his acting career in 1937, Sande is perhaps most famous for his role in the movie Johnny Tremain, in which he played Paul Revere. Other notable appearances include his role as Jack Flash Strong in the film The Iron Claw (1941) and his parts in several sci-fi movies, including Red Planet Mars, The War of the Worlds and The Invaders from Mars. He also played some roles in television, where he made appearances or played larger parts in western and crime shows between 1950 and 1970, with the most memorable being his character Captain Horatio Bullwinkle on Tugboat Annie. Despite a rather productive career, Sande was one of those actors more known for his face than his name. He passed away on November 22, 1971, leaving behind a well-received and memorable career, despite his lack of name recognition.
