  • Quotes

    • Will: (on becoming Ali from Director Michael Mann) He said we would run the way Muhammad Ali ran, in the cities that he ran in, and the routes he ran. We would eat the food that Muhammad Ali ate, we would spar the way he sparred, we would train the way Muhammad Ali trained. And by "we" he meant me. Then there was the mental and emotional development of Ali. The third part was the spiritual development, where I would understand the convictions that Muhammad Ali developed during the period we were shooting in the film.

    • Will: (revealing wife Jada gave him advice before his love scene in Seven Pounds) Jada said, 'Listen, I know you're uncomfortable, but you better not embarrass me.' She said, 'When you do that love scene, you better show 'em what you're working with!'

    • Will: (revealing he feels uncomfortable during sex scenes in his movies) My worst nightmare is for an actress to ... feel like I'm taking this opportunity to get a little quickie feel, you know, some legal cheating going on! I just need, specifically women, to feel comfortable around me. I just don't want to feel like I'm that dude.

    • Will: I think a large part of why I've been successful is that I have, essentially, a white-collar career with a blue-collar mentality.

    • Will: (On his success) For a long time now, I have been beyond anything that I ever dreamed. I just put my head down and run hard, and I am almost always surprised when I look up and see where I am.

    • Will: (on his and Jada's open marriage) Our perspective is, you don't avoid what's natural and you're going to be attracted to people. And if it came down to it, then one would say to the other: 'Look, I need to have sex with somebody. Now, I'm not going to if you don't approve of it'. In our marriage vows, we didn't say 'forsaking all others'. We said 'you will never hear I did something afterwards'. Because if that happens the relationship is destroyed.

    • Will Smith: It's better for my body, for my sanity, for my family, for my life, if people are having fun. My skin is better.

    • Will: I know how to learn anything I want to learn. Give me a book.

    • Will: (On Star Wars) I might have been eight or nine. That was the movie that put me into a space where the science fiction element was almost a spiritual connection for me. I thought, if someone could imagine that and then put it on a screen and make me feel like that... and my entire career I've been trying to make people feel like Star Wars made me feel.

    • Will: If I weren't a musician/actor, I'd be a computer engineer. I was always good at math. I probably would have been the guy who invented the remote control if I'd been around then.

    • Will: (on the birth of Jaden) Me and Jada wanna take credit for it, but we went to Mexico and got some tequila and nine months later he showed up.

    • Will: (on wife Jada) We were together for two years before she even laughed at something I said! She thinks I'm hilarious now, it just took her some time to work into it, but we connected intellectually. Our conversations were always very serious, about the world and how we can make it better. We connected intellectually and worked into the comedic side.

    • Will: Comedy is better than muscles, better than money, better than looks. It's like if you can make a girl laugh out loud, you're in. It almost like the pressure of the laugh makes her underwear fall off.

    • Will: (looking back, he's amazed to have become a star earning millions of dollars per film) It has been beyond anything I've ever dreamed. I just put my head down and run hard and I'm always surprised when I look up and see where I am.

    • Will: A few years ago I said I honestly believe I could be President of the United States. Now, there were probably political experts that laughed. But put me on a lie detector right now and I positively believe I could be President.

    • Will: I was raised in a Baptist household and my grandmother would get up out of her casket (if I became a Scientologist).

    • Will: There's so much negative imagery of black fatherhood. I've got tons of friends that are doing the right thing by their kids, and doing the right thing as a father - and how come that's not as newsworthy?

    • Will: The first eight years of schooling was with all white people. So that helped me to understand how white people think. I think that transition is what helped me bridge the gap, because that's what my success has really been about: bridging the gap between the black community and the white community.

    • Will: In my mind, I've always been an A-list Hollywood superstar. Y'all just didn't know yet.

    • Will: Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like.

    • Will: I don't know what my calling is, but I want to be here for a bigger reason. I strive to be like the greatest people who have ever lived.

    • Will: If it was something that I really committed myself to, I don't think there's anything that could stop me becoming President of the United States.

    • Will: I had to focus and create a character in Bagger Vance, not just do my 'Will Smith' thing and get paid.

    • Will: I didn't kill nobody in none of my records, I didn't use no profanity in none of my records...gangsta rap is wack.

    • Will Smith: I don't make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts.

    • Will Smith: (On learning to swim) I'm too big to have some woman hold my stomach and say 'Now kick your feet'.

    • Will Smith: Rap music--which a lot of white America doesn't understand--rap music is not just a music. Rap music is a subculture: hip-hop. It's a style of dress, an attitude, a look, a language. It's more than just music.

  • Possibly one of the greatest actors of all time, and has such great movies

If you can say a great actor who actually has talent,it's Will Smith. He first started as a rapper, and he's actually a great singer, with such great songs like Parents Don't Understand,Wild Wild West and Switch. And then he was in that sitcom,The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,which was hilrailous and still is. Now,he's an actor, and he has such great movies. Some of his great films include Men In Black,Hitch,Independence Day and the list goes on and on. Whenever he's in a film, you know it's going to be a great film. However,he has such untalented children. Overall,he's a great actor, and great rapper.moreless
  • I've grew-up watching Will Smith, from his previous series of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Films.

Wow! I couldn't believe my own eyes at all. Will Smith has tone down quite bit since his previous sitcom series. He actually isn't quite that funny anymore like he use to be. But he is still a great actor that isn't lost really. Will Smith still brings us great entertainment into films.
