William Baldwin is the third of the famous acting Baldwin brothers. His older brothers are Alec and Daniel, and his younger brother is Stephen. His non-acting sisters are Elizabeth, and Jane. Born and raised in Long Island's Massapequa, New York, William, a very good athlete in high school, attended State University of New York at Binghamton as a Political Science major. He briefly served as an aide to a US Representative, but any political career he might have had was cut short by the death of his father in 1983. William decided to try acting, and did some modeling while studying to be an actor. Billy's first role as an actor was as a killer in the 1989 ABC TV movie, The Preppie Murder. William was quickly hired for small parts in films, getting his big break in 1991's Backdraft. Baldwin is married to singer Chynna Phillips. They have three children: daughter Jamison Baldwin, born on February 27, 2000, son Vance Alexander Baldwin, born on October 23, 2001, and daughter Brooke Michelle, born on December 6, 2004.
