Yoshihiro Asai, known as the Ultimo Dragon is without a doubt, a legend in Japan. And he's one of the best cruiserweights to come out of WCW. Just like Jushin Liger, he had one of the best masks I have ever seen back then. I don't care who you are, once you see that mask, your eyes would be glued on him instantly.
During his early wrestling years, he traveled back and forth from Japan to Mexico earning great results in the ring. During his stay in Mexico, he adapted to the lucha libre style of wrestling along with mixed martial arts from Japan. He was also called the inventor of the Asai Moonsault, though he wasn't the one who did it.
Another insane fact about Asai, he is the first (and quite possibly the only man) in the history of professional wrestling to win NINE titles in one go. NINE titles? That's unheard of.
The one bad thing in his career? When he went to the WWE.....and they dropped the ball with him. I can't remember him winning any big matches there. He accomplished his life-long dream in wrestling at Madison Square Garden. However, all they did is have him lose to weaker talent, which was not right. I'm glad he left WWE.
Despite that minor flaw in his resume, he is still one of the best wrestlers in the world today. The entire world and the rest of Japan salutes you, Asai-san.
