    I don't know if this answers your question, but he worre those thick black glasses after filming Star Trek since he was regrowing his eyebrows and it would look weird without them

    I don't know if he needs the glasses or not, but when he wears them he looks handsome still. If he's got the glasses on and smile, he's actually cute! For his sake, though, I hope he doesn't need such thick lenses. His eyesight would be pretty bad if so.
