Count D: What's the difference between a woman's real and fake tears? Even a mermaid would shed tears to get someone she loves. Fairy tales say that a mermaid's tears become pearls. The container Count D keeps the mermaid in while inside is his shop is shaped like an urn, which usually holds the ashes of deceased. This strikes home the fact that Eva is indeed dead. (edit)

Legend has it that those who eat the flesh of a mermaid may become immortal. However, there is a small chance of that happening, with a much greater chance that the consumer will die or become a damned creature known as a lost soul. (edit) They come to the land sometimes to mingle with men for fun.

The Little Mermaid is a fairy tale written in 1836 by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a young mermaid who is willing to give up everything to gain a human soul and the love of a prince. It was first translated into English by H. P. Paull in 1872. It is actually an extremely dark tale, much different from the commonly-known Disney version. (edit) Full moon myths.

Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. Psychologists, however, have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon.
