Episode Summary

Multiphasic transrepliclonator pods will allow Brain to begin cloning an army of himself. However, before even the first clone can be made, Pinky's DNA accidentally gets mixed in with Brain's. The result, naturally, is a different kind of clone – one that likes to be called 'Romy.' Brain tries to make do with this development, as he and Pinky essentially act as Romy's parents. The thing is, Romy wants to be his own mouse and doesn't like being pushed into Brain's world domination plans or Pinky's stupid ways. When he runs away, the mice try to find him.

    8.8 Great

Brain attempts to clone himself. But when Pinky's D.N.A gets mixed into the experiment, the results are not what Brain expected hide show

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes of Pinky and The Brain. Brain is studying a cell specimen he extracted from a secret location (however, it wasn't secret for long. Pinky found the location under Brain's tail, to Brain's embarassment). Brain planned to use the sample to make an army Brains. Unfortunately, Brain didn't see one of Pinky's toenails fly into his cloning machine while he was charging it up. Naturally, the clone's brainpower wasn't as great as it should have been (to Brain's horror, the clone starts to talk like Pinky). My favorite part of the episode was when Brain discovered that his clone had Pinky's D.N.A (as he put it "Be afraid, be very afraid). After seeing his clone sprout buck teeth (like Pinky), he yelled Pinky's name and drug him by the ear. After hearing that the clone was a combination of both their D.N.A, Pinky believed he was a mother. Brain tried to convince him otherwise, stating that the clone's genetic make-up just included both their building blocks. Upon hearing his own words, Brain realized Pinky was the clone's mother (that made him scream like crazy). Ha! Though the entire episode was good, that was my favorite part.

  • The Fly:

Brain discovering his DNA sample had been merged with Pinky's during Roman's creation parodies Seth Brundle discovering he had been fused with a fly when he teleported himself. Even the same line from the movie is used "Be afraid. Be very afraid". []
  • Brain: I Have No Clone!

This is a twist on the phrase "I Have No Son". []
  • Romy: ...that's why we're taking a year off to follow the Grateful Dead.
Brain: (to Pinky) Do you want to tell him or shall I?

The Grateful Dead were a rock band started in the 1960s whose hits included "Truckin'" and "Uncle John's Band." They were known for their extended jam sessions and loyal fanbase, some of whom followed the band on tour, attending all the shows.

What Brain was debating telling Romy was that, this being 1997, the Grateful Dead didn't exist anymore; the band dissolved in 1995 after the death of guitarist Jerry Garcia, although the surviving members of the band went on to form The Other Ones (who were later simply known as The Dead) in 1998.
