I used to LOVE this show. too bad it went under... but i still love it!!

BEST KIDS/EDUCATIONAL SHOW EVERR!!! i miss it sooo much and it stinks that its gone. i miss going on adventures and experiencing such great things from my couch. and the little experiments that charlie would do were actually useful in case of emergencies or if you were bored and were looking for some fun. the cast and crew was also great because they always knew how to make everything interesting. i'm so sad its no longer but hopefully there will be somethig like it for the next generation. I used to LOVE this show. too bad it went under... but i still love it!!

p.s.- charlie (charles powell) is my uncle!

    Elisha!!!!!!!!!!!! hide « show »

I saw this show back when it origianlly aired. had some great stuff on it and it helped me a lot in school back then. i also remember that i had a huge crush on the girl on the show. just founbd out recently that that girl was known other than the extremley talented Elisha Cuthbert. i just received from a guy that recorded all of the episodes. then he edited everything out except for the scenes that Elisha was in. and i just showed the dvd's to my nephew. i think he's starting to fall in love with her.

One of the few PBS Kids show I appreciated hide « show »

While PBS was the pinnacle of baby shows, Popular Mechanics for kids was an interesting show which put many things in real life focus. The show was simply informative and it tought kids basic science. While accessible to kids it kept the maturity level to a neccesary level. It was refreshign to see a show involving children where they weren't forcefully goody-goody and best of all it did not require a gimmicky stuffed puppet. The show was informative on what the kids do and how they work. It did get silly but every children themed show revolves around immature humor so it was acceptable.

    fun science show for kids

    A recommendation and a disclaimer. hide « show »

I've found that older folks like me can learn a lot by watching educational shows for children. Because they dumb everything down I guess, but whatever the reason Popular Mechanics for Kids was a show I really got hooked on back when it was on a channel I could get. And having the now-famous Elisha Cuthbert as a teenybopper guest host made it quite apppealing. Even as a girl barely in her teens she was already sexier than most mature actresses today. I knew she was destined for stardom.

Although I recommend this series I have to warn you that it gets pretty nauseating at times, dealing with subjects like "how your food turns to poo," or whether this guy will throw up when he eats a large meal and then gets on a roller coaster.(He did). In one segment Elisha eats a
cockroach. I haven't felt quite the same about her since. She did not throw up but later stated that they don't taste very good. In order to
educate you they push back the limits of what's considered watchable, but they really gross you out in the process which is why I can't give
the show a higher rating. It's not for everyone. You shouldn't watch PMFK if it's close to dinnertime, and whatever you do DON'T watch it
during a meal. But if you can suffer through the yukky stuff you will emerge a little smarter.

I really like this show. I know is a really old show from like 1999 but is really cool. You get to see like how things work and see how you can do a experiment in your house. hide « show »

I really like this show. I know is a really old show from like 1999 but is really cool. You get to see like how things work and see how you can do a experiment in your house. Like in the money episode they showed you where money is stored and stuff. Charlie also showed you how to indentify fake money and real money. And fake $100.00 bills from the real ones. It was really cool.
