Episode Summary

To better cram for a big upcoming test, the Ranger teens head up to Billy's Uncle's cabin up in the mountains. Goldar uses this brain-storming session to his advantage, by manipulating their dreams with the Crystal Of Nightmares. Their worst fears are played out in their dreams, causing them to be completely paranoid and constantly afraid when they wake up. Can our heroes overcome these self-esteem impairments to seek out and destroy the Crystal?

  • When the maid came in to the room near the end of the episode, she put down the trash can and started vacuuming without plugging it in. []
  • How did Bulk & Skull know to say "It's Morphin' Time" to morph? Sure it's a dream, but that kind of knowledge isn't public for several years. []
  • In Kimberly's dream/flashback, all mentions of Tommy were edited out of this episode. []
  • This episode marks the final time the original Megazord battles Goldar or Scorpina. []
  • First appearance of the new suit for Goldar. It may look the same, and for all intents and purposes it is, but the mouth is noticably improved over the one from Zyuranger, which merely involved a "rising snout" when he talked, versus the more jaw-oriented mechanics in this one. The older model will still appear in recycled footage well into next season, but all new scenes will feature the improved Goldar "2.0". The next, of which, won't be until "Return of an Old Friend (1)". []
  • Bulk & Skull's Bulkster & Super Skull dream features the one and only bit of US footage inside the original Megazord's cockpit (or rather, a cheap mock-up done to give the impression of it). []
More Notes
  • Mr. Kaplan: Read them and weep. (hands Bulk and Skull their test results)
(Bulk and Skull look at the results)
Skull: Hey! Bulk! The plan worked! We didn't get D's! NO detention! (slaps his test)
    Bulk: Will you shut up?
Mr. Kaplan: Do you know what "F" stands for, gentlemen?
    Bulk: Fun?
    Skull: Far out?
Mr. Kaplan: NO! (steps up to the blackboard and writes down the word...) "FOREVER"! Which is how long you're gonna be stayin' after school in my office!
Bulk: That was my next guess.
Mr. Kaplan: I'm VERY disappointed in you gentlemen! (waves the eraser at Bulk and Skull, causing Bulk to try and stifle a sneeze)
Mr. Kaplan: What's the matter with him?
    Skull: TAKE COVER!!!
(Bulk sneezes so hard, Mr. Kaplan's toupee off!)
(everyone else laughs, but Bulk frowns a bit) []
  • Bulk(In dream): It's Morphin' Time! Burgersaurus!
    Skull: Dogasaurus! []
