Born in New York and raised in Ansonia, Connecticut, Garita began acting when she moved back to New York City in 1992. She landed a role as an extra on "One Life to Live" and has also appeared in "All My Children" and "As the World Turns." Her theater background includes roles as Cleopatra in "Pentecost" at the Yale Repertory Theatre and Cecilia in "Yepeto" for the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. In January 1997, she completed her first film, "Bright Nights, Dark Days."

Of Costa Rican heritage, Garita lived in Costa Rica for six months when she was 12 years old. She received a Bachelor of science in marketing from the University of Connecticut and attended William Esper Studios for acting.

When she's not working, she enjoys playing and watching sports, and spending time with her seven nieces and nephews. She is also involved in the charities Equity Fights AIDS and Eastern Paralyzed Veterans.

  • Priscilla: Daytime TV is a great way to polish your tools as an actor and keep them polished for other jobs.(edit)
  • Priscilla: (on marriage) I'm very old-fashioned in that respect. I want to hold true to the words of "till death do us part." And I know that's a big thing to try to hold on to. If things go wrong, you have to let go. I hear divorce is at 60 percent. I hold on to that girl who thinks Mommy and Daddy will be together forever. I would love to be married and I would love to be a mother of several babies. Maybe two or three, but all when the timing is right. I want to be as prepared as I can be and try to be the best mom I can. Some day, hopefully.(edit)
  • Priscilla: (on moving from New York to California) It was a hard adjustment that first year. I am not going to lie, I cried a lot!(edit)
  • Priscilla: (on getting her hair cut extremely short for her role on "Sunset Beach") I felt very vulnerable and very closed off. I wanted to crawl in a hole and hibernate until it grew!(edit)
  • Priscilla: I really wanted to be an actress but I didn't think my parents would accept that. I thought, well, I have to make them proud of me and make lots of money and I guess I'm good at math so I'll do marketing. And I hated it, I hated it, I hated it.(edit)
  • Priscilla: (on playing a "bad girl" on "Sunset Beach") It's exciting, you get to do things you're not allowed to do in everyday life. Since it was something that is not like my personality in real life, it was fun to explore how to be all those evil things.(edit)
