Pete treats Charlotte's insomnia, Naomi goes on her first date since college and a patient asks Addison to conceal her fertility from her husband.
Write a Recap »I wasn't crazy about the first episode of Private Practice, but since Addison Shepard was my favorite character in Grey's Anatomy, I decided to give it another shock, and boy, am I happy about that!
This episode had a lot of character development, not so much for Addison, but for just about every other major character on the show. We find out about Del's past of being abused as a child, see the hurt side of the male cast, and a slightly-less demonized version of Charlotte.
It's particularly funny for me to watch Violet be so against having kids, considering her role in Judging Amy, but I'm sure I'll get past it. I can't wait for next week to watch the next episode!
You're in it now! I loved that line at the end... hide show
Yay, finally they are getting into something good. I wonder what will happen though because she does want the whole thing and he is only looking for fun. I am excited about them together. I still really wanna see how Cooper and Violet are gonna be like when they finally hook up. He keeps hinting it to her but she just doesn't get it, or chooses not to see it. I loved the thing with the couple. I didn't expect her to be sick, I honestly thought she just didn't wanna have kids. Great story. And Charlotte was kinda funny with the sleep deprivation. Yay, I can't wait til next episode!
Another good episode that made me realize how much I am starting to love this show. They have such cute couples and the cases are always interesting hide show
The case on Hunington's disorder was really good. I loved how we started out not knowing what the real issue was. It was exciting to see whether she had it or not and I was convinced she wasn't going to end up having it. I liked how she dealt with the issues in her life and figured out what to do. I started to feel really bad for her. I was suprised they were going to have a kid, because I kind of feel like you shouldn't have kids in that situation, but her reasoning made sense. The abusive case was interesting. It was neat to see that it can be someone so weak and unsuspecting doing the abusing. It was also interesting to see the girls perspective on it. I also enjoyed seeing how Cooper handled the situation, since Sam didn't want him to do anything about it. Charlotte's case of insomnia was so funny, and I liked how everyone got involved. It was interesting to learn more about why she is the way she is. This episode made me start to like Addison and Pete more. They have such obvious chemistry, it is just sad that she wants kids and he doesn't. Dell and Naommi would make a very weird couple, but it is interesting to see what happens.
A woman has a terrible disease so she can have kids.
A mother with MS is accused of beating her daugher.
Charlotte cant sleep and Sam tries to help, then Pete tries to help her, then Violet gives a try.
We find that Violet doesnt want kids and that Dell was abused as a child.
Nice to know the rotine that Dell does before the doctors get there, was a nice plus.
Overall this was a nice episode, definitely not one of the best, but was nice and interesting. Hoping for a great next one, and more tension between Pete and Addison of course !
I enjoyed this one, had the right amount of drama and curiosity. hide show
For one thing, Private Practice lives on as the non-annoying TV series, that has a decent amount of the Grey's Anatomy drama that I like, though not all of it, still a fair trade for the non-annoying characters.
Sam and Cooper
Well this is a battle between the doctors who have patients that don't seem to be getting along, but should. This was the highlight of the episode, showcasing Cooper's more sensitive and caring side and not just the one out there looking for sexual pleasure all his life. Excellent plot, it also showcased Sam's anger towards a certain someone.
Sam, Naomi and Dell
And this certain someone is Dell who can't seem to let go of his crush on Naomi. And even if Naomi tells Sam there will never be anything that will happen between the two, he still pushes his anger on Dell.
Naomi and Addison
Another excellent plot here, next to the Cooper one that I could not forget! Naomi and Addison meet with a couple who is "trying to have a baby." I won't spill anymore, but it is excellent!
Charlotte and Pete
Well basically Charlotte is suffering because she can't find sleep, and the way she poured herself out there actually made her seem like a real human being, Pete did most of the work in helping her, but everyone gave a little.
Episode Quote (courtesy of Violet): I don't think anybody who had a child ever thought, "Oh boy, something I can hit."
