Michael is still not speaking to Brian. Tracy is more upset that Michael has been lying to her than she is about his being gay, but they work things out. Michael and David enjoy their newfound domestic bliss, though not without a few bumps. A miserable Brian begins spending his free time with Ted, his son and their mothers. Ted is delighted because he's getting Brian's numerous rejects, but his constant presence is driving Melanie crazy. Determined to give up men forever, Emmett joins a "conversion therapy" group. Lindsay and Melanie continue to fight about Brian, finances and their future. Realizing how much Michael and Brian care about each other, Justin engineers sort-of a reconciliation between them.

So we see the effect it has on Brian when he is unable to talk to Mike, his best friend, his love...He starts seeing Mike everywhere and is thrown out of routine because he is not adjusting well to Mike not being there. In his agony Brian resorts to hanging out with Ted and spending a lot more time with his son at Mel and Linze's place. This is all working out fine for Ted because Brian tells all these guys that he's not interested, so Ted takes the rejections and sleeps with them. Isn't it odd how Brian doesn't want to sleep with other guys when Mike is not speaking to him? Mel and Linze are having trouble in paradise because Mel takes everything out on Linze. Brian tells Linze that maybe she should express her feelings and let out some of those demons instead of holding everything in and not saying anything to Mel at all. Linze finally does open her mouth and it hits Mel like a ton of bricks. Emmett continues his path to righteousness and is not sleeping with men. He gets drunk and meets this guy in a bar who invites him to a group...that turns out to be a support group for former gays who shed their wrong lifestyle and "saw the light" and changed, basically became heterosexual...or so they tell themselves. Emmett thinks it's a joke until he starts questioning himself and whether this is really the life he wants, so he is now surrounded with all this confusing. Justin intervenes where he's not wanted to try to get Mike and Brian to speak again. Bold move when he was sitting there naked with Brian and brought up Mike. Justin takes Mike back the comic and tells Mike why Brian did what he did. Mike works things out with Brian in the end, and has this light in his eyes and smirk on his face like nothing Brian says matters, like his tough act doesn't matter because deep down, he knows Brian loves him too. Meanwhile, Mike moves in with David and they both have some adjusting to do. David freaks out a little when he sees all Mike's toys and everything around so he puts them all away. When Mike confronts him about it he re-thinks the situation and they work it out in the end as well. As if that isn't enough, there's more circling Mike. Tracy runs into him at work while a co-worker is making jokes a bout gay men. Tracy stands up to the woman and in a secretive way sticks up for Mike. She gives Mike her two weeks notice and says that she didn't have a problem with the fact that he was gay but was hurt because Mike didn't trust her enough not to tell everybody. These two also work it out and decide that they can probably stay friends. This was a good episode, can't wait to see what happens next.
Justin's the middle-man hide show
With Brian and Michael no longer on speaking terms, Justin tries to repair the friendship. Debbie is thankful for Brian's big push, so now the two are enjoying their monagomous relationship, but there are a few problems. Emmett does the unthinkable after he made the promise to God: he tries to go straight? He meets Matt, a person who has converted his sexuality by going to a program called "See the Light". After explaining what the program does, he convinces Emmett to join. The gang is shocked when Emmett tells them of his plan. Later, Emmett tries to distance himself from the others, claiming that they are a bad influence and will divert him from his path of becoming straight. I find this episode hilarious because the thought of Emmett being straight is so unrealistically funny.

Brian is really hurt about losing Michael, though he knows that pushing him away was the best thing to do. It's true, Michael would have just followed Brian around for the rest of his life, always hoping that someday he and Brian would end up together. But that's never going to happen. There are definitely some TV shows out there where it's plain to see that one day one of the characters will realize that the love of his life has been his best friend all along, but that has never been the case with QAF. I have to say, I'm ususally pretty good at telling which characters are meant for each other, and which relationships will never be. One example is Harry Potter--the Ron/Hermione and Harry/Hermione situation. Anyone who believes that Harry and Hermione belong together is completely wrong and doesn't seem to be able to read characters very well (I don't mean to be offensive, but there's no way that those two would ever end up together. That kind of chemistry just isn't there between Harry and Hermione, but it sure as hell is staring everyone in the face between Ron and Hermione, from Book 1 onwards). Anyway, getting off my tangent, the same holds true for Brian and Michael. It just could never happen because there's nothing to develop in that direction between them. Brian knows that, but Michael still has to figure it out. This is not to suggest that Brian and Michael have to dissolve their friendship because of it. They make-up due to Justin's intervention, after that incredibly hot ice cream kiss scene. And though Michael will still pine away for Brian until about the 4th season, at least he now knows that Brian will never love him in the way that he loves Brian.

I still love the show and think that it is very well done. But this episode bored me, not going to lie. Nothing really happened. For all the episodes before this one I would not look at the clock and my eyes would stay glued on the screen. During this episode, I must have looked at the clock about six times to see when it was going to be over. Come on, this show can do better!
Brian is so sad in the episode, about Michael. I mean you really forget sometimes how important Michael is to Brian, but after his little birthday party antics and then this episode we are really reminded. I feel so bad for him watching him hallucinate Michael is there with him at Woody's and mooping around Babylon, he looks crushed. Not that he would ever admitt it.
