202
The boys are stuck. Ted's stuck in a career he no longer wants. Michael's stuck with the prospect of returning to his dead-end career at the Big Q. Emmett's decided he's stuck with an ass that needs surgical enhancement. Justin's stuck in the worst situation of all. Since the attack, he has nightmares about Chris Hobbs, and he recoils from physical contact.
Jennifer is having trouble not only reaching, but even touching her son. Deb hints that Brian may be best suited to the job, but Jennifer refuses. When Justin throws a violent tantrum at home after Brian won't see him, Jennifer asks Brian to do whatever it takes to reach him. Seeking advice from a former trick (also a psychiatrist), Brian is told that Justin must relive the experience in order to process it and move on. But, Brian's best efforts to recreate the fateful prom night for Justin are ineffectual.
Another day at the office means another day for Ted to surf cumquik.com. It's his last day, after Mr. Wertshafter catches him. Even Mr. Wertshafter knows he's doing Ted a favour – ‘cause if you're not passionate about your work, "you're just jerking yourself off."
Emmett needs money for his new buns, and Michael's willing to try anything before going back to the Q. Thus, the adventurous housemates spend a night as naked waiters. Emmett adores getting his ass pinched black and blue—Michael's just blue. It's not for him. So he takes his old job back at the Big Q—his new boss being his old nemesis who has it out for him.
Lindsay's decided to be practical. She can't entertain notions of a wedding with Melanie when she wants to throw a memorable party for Gus' first birthday. Memorable indeed. When Gus innocently starts to play with his new bat, Justin's memory is finally triggered—Chris Hobbs swinging the bat, Brian calling to warn him—and he relives the experience in vivid detail.
Justin struggles with his memory loss and nightmares. Mike deals with his break up with David and looks for a job with Emmett. Ted gets fired. Mel and Linze hash out the marriage subject again. It's Gus's first birthday. hide show
Justin is having nightmares and fits of rage, he doesn't even seem like the same person anymore. By the way if he can't remember anything about the incident then how can he be having dreams of Chris and what Chris did to him? Anyway, Jenn goes to Brian and asks her to take her son because he needs to be around someone that can get close to him, that he will let get close. I thought this scene was hilarious because when Brian opened the door to let one of his tricks out, Jenn was standing there and saw Brian butt naked. Anyway Brian and Daphne try to re enact the prom for Justin, the dance and everything and he doesn't remember. He also doesn't even seem like the same person because he thought the song was old and corny, he didn't seem to know the steps to the dance that they performed amazingly together at prom, and he can't believe that Brian had kissed him in front of everyone. Brian takes him to the place where it all happened and gives him a play by play, but Justin still doesn't remember. Justin says he wishes he could remember, Brian says HE wishes he could forget. Brian tries to sleep with Justin but Justin stops him. Brian says it's ok and Justin says no it's not. Finally they go to Gus's first birthday party at Mel and Linze's, and Gus gets a toy bat for a present. This sparks Justin's memory about getting hit. Later he and Brian go to have sex, but Justin tells him to take it easy, Brian says like the first time? I'm a little confused. Does Justin only remember getting hit? He still doesn't remember the prom or having sex with Brian previous times before, or that he loved Brian, does he remember anything before getting bashed? Meanwhile Mike is struggling with his break up from David and says he's alone until Deb smacks some sense into him. He and Emmett look for a job and wind up being half naked waiters, but the pay is good. After making five hundred dollars each, Emmett decides to do another gig. Mike decides to seek for his job back at the big Q which has already been filled by Andrew, a cocky, mean little twerp who offers Mike to be the assistant manager and treats him like crap. Good thing he at least still has his friend Tracie there. Meanwhile Ted gets caught watching porn on the computer at work. He thinks the boss fired him for being gay and messing with himself at work because of his spilling coffee on his pants and the porn being on when the boss walked in. The boss later tells him that it's company policy to fire anyone using the internet for anything unrelated to work while on the clock, and says he ultimately did Ted a favor, since he wasn't happy being an accountant. Also, Linze tries a different approach to the marriage thing. Mel later gives in on the subject and actually winds up proposing! Linze of course said yes. This was a great episode. I hate seeing Justin so scared of everything and so timid. Will he ever be the same Justin we knew before? Will he ever smile like Sunshine again, or have his sense of humor, or his cockiness? I hope so.
Brian makes love for the first time. hide show
This episode and the last, are really special episodes. We see the trauma that Justin went through months after the bashing, but also the severe damage that it's left on Brian too. Brian has nearly cut himself off from everyone, even Michael. This episode just proves even further of the love that is between Brian and Justin. After Jennifer told Brian to stay away in the last episode, she now seeks his help, in attempt to recover how Justin used to be. Brian tries to have sex with him, but even he isn't capable of touching Justin. Frustrated on how he can help him, Brian sees a phsycaitrist's help, where he tells him that he needs to unlock Justin's memory. They reinact what happened the night of prom, until finally Justin's able to remember what happened. Only now, is Brian finally able to touch Justin, and for the first time on the show, or in my opinion, they make love. In this scene, it goes so much beyond sex. I think that this scene is beautiful and shows the love that they have for each other. This is a really beautiful and special episode. Loved it.
We finally see just how much Brian cares for Justin... hide show
In this episode we discover that Brian will do whatever it takes to help Justin get over the trauma caused by Chris Hobbs. He takes Justin into his home, allows him to sleep in his bed and not on the couch, and even sees a psychiatrist (which he swore he'd never do) in order to save Justin. He protects him at the birthday party and gives him everything he needs. When they make love at the end of the episode, it's the first time that it's not just about sex for Brian. It's much more to him now. From here on out, it's about love and attachment.
This episode focus on the aftermath of Justin's attack. The dreams he had, involving Chris Hobbes. His inability to deal with physical contact and his all around severe jitters. You really feel so much pain in this episode for Sunshine. The difficulty he has in remembering such a painful day and his rage almost break your heart. Seeing how emotional Brian gets about the ordeal and how much he tries to help him really proves that he does have an affection and love for him, even though he wouldn't admitt it. The simple act of him keeping and wearing the scarf shows you just how much he has been touched by Justin and the events of that night. And when Justin finally remembers the painful day you really get the sense that it hits him like a ton of bricks, from such a simple action as Gus swining a childs bat that he recieved as a present.
