She began her career as a child model in her native Atlanta, Ga. When the family moved to New York, the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency signed her. In 1989, she auditioned for a part in the feature film "Ghost Dad," starring bill Cosby. Although she was too young for the role, her personality and ability for memorizing lines greatly impressed the casting directors, who brought her to Cosby's attention. After meetings with the writers and producers of "The Cosby Show," as well as with Cosby, she landed the role of Olivia Kendall and made her television debut in 1989. Olivia Kendall on "The Cosby Show"
Olivia is the acquired daughter from Denise with the matrimony with the young Martin Kendall. Thanks to her sweet face and to her inconceivable liking, Olivia comes gathering favorably in the Huxtable's house from all the family. In some cases, especially to the beginning, she arouses the jealousy of the poor Rudy that seen dispossessed of all those attentions that commonly the families turned her. Olivia is already a very intelligent child, but thanks to her new mama (that follows her in each moment of the day) she learn more things very quickly. She like to be at the center of the attentions and she does all to be so: singing, dancing and demonstrating his precocity counting and reading. Sometimes, with her questions arrive to put in crisis the adults of the Huxtable's house, especially the poor Heathcliff, that always try to invent more absurd things to don't defeat her (some examples are the questions regarding the birth of the children and the race of Santa Claus). Raven went on to star as 'Nicole' on the top-rated series "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper." Symone made her feature film debut in Penelope Spheeris' "The Little Rascals." Symone's recording career began at the age of five when she signed a contract with MCA Records. Here's To New Dreams, a mix of R&B, pop and rap, was released containing the single "That's What Little Girls Are Made Of." She has also performed on Broadway, singing with the Boys Choir of Harlem as part of their 25th Anniversary celebration. At age 12, Symone is widely recognized for her film and television work. She has received several Youth in Film Awards, a NAACP Junior Achievement Award for Excellence in a TV series, and was nominated for a People's Choice Award for Outstanding Young Performer and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a TV series. Raven has appeared on "Sesame Street" "Alvin and the Chipmunks "Five Decade Salute to Music" Disney special "The Muppets at Walt Disney World". Lifetime's "Take your Daughter to Work Special" ABC's "A Night of Magic", etc. She was the youngest to host NBC's "Friday Night Videos", and she also hosted NBC's "Saturday Morning Videos". She was the voice of Goldilocks in the tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears for the HBO animated series "Happily Ever After". Raven has been a presenter at the "People's Choice Awards", "NAACP Image Awards", "The International Emmys", "Night of a Hundred Stars", Nickelodeon's "Kids Choice Awards", and the "Jim Thorpe Sports Awards". She was Muhammad Ali's special guest at his 50th birthday celebration (an ABC special). And also represented the world's children in a televised tribute to Dr Seuss. Raven played Eddie Murphy's daughter in the blockbuster hit "Dr. DoLittle". Raven has dozens of print ads and television commercials to her credit as well. Raven still resides in Atlanta with her parents and her brother BLAIZE, who is also represented by the agency.

Raven: (about the web sites that mock her weight) It hurt the first few times I read them, and then after like, I was like, "Oooh, this makes me want to succeed even more just for you, so you can say even more about me! How about that? My conflict in life is just making sure that I remember that I'm beautiful just the way I am, no matter what size I am. I'm thick and fabulous! I don't care how many haters are out there. I'm absolutely fabulous.
(edit)
Raven: I did have my 22nd birthday party at Tao Las Vegas. There was table dancing, but not by me! I still have my fun, I just do it tastefully. I still have my mama to answer to!
(edit)
Raven: (about her parents' positive influence) I remember how when I first came to Disney, they were talking to me about how to present myself and put my best foot forward. I was like, "Do you know my mother and father? It's okay, I've got this!" My parents were far stricter than the executives ever could be.
(edit)
Raven: My favorite game is Boggle. That's actually how I learned how to spell. I was having a little problem with spelling and Boggle helped me!
(edit)
Raven: There was this one boy I wanted to date so badly. He wouldn't date me, and then he got a girlfriend. I guess I just wasn't supposed to be with him!
(edit)
Raven: I shop when I'm sad. I shop when I'm happy. It just makes me feel good.
(edit)
Raven: We have a fan base that has followed us from the first movie, so in a sense we’re like that underground cover group that someone is always watching. I think we’ll always be popular no matter who comes after us.
(edit)
Raven: I think that the Cheetah Girls prove that not everybody has to look the same. Not everybody has to be skinny. Some people are comfortable with the way they are and hopefully that’s what the Cheetah Girls can promote in girls.
(edit)
Raven: It shows that girls can grow up, and everybody has to take a path, their own way. Even though the dream may be the same, everyone has to take their own road to that dream. We show that with the Cheetah Girls.
(edit)
Raven: I think ‘Cheetah Girls' started the whole musical situation, and ‘High School Musical' really blew it out of the water. So I wanted to come back and really show that we were kind of the first ones to do it.
(edit)
Raven: Friends help friends make their dreams come true.
(edit)
Raven: Friendship is a give and take. You have to have a strong relationship with your friend and I think you have to offer them something and they have to offer you something and that’s to always learn from it.
(edit)
Raven: Learning that life is more important than anything -- meaning you can have the hair color of the season, the purse of the season, or find out somebody else's business, but if you don't know how to take care of yourself as a person, as a young adult, none of that matters.
(edit)
Raven: Don't stress over simple stuff! Everyone makes mistakes. Think of stuff that you CAN do!
(edit)
Raven: I didn't sign a studio deal with Disney, but I love the projects I've done there and the people. It's been a wonderful experience. I've loved it all, but I had the best time on That's So Raven.
(edit)
Raven: Don't put your all into someone if they treat you like dirt.
(edit)
Raven: Be comfortable with who you are!
(edit)

(edit)
Raven: Guys should treat girls like queens and girls should treat guys like kings.
(edit)
Raven: I have to say acting has one side of my heart and then music has the other side. And if I stop one, I'll have half a heart. I can't live with half a heart, so I like both of them equally.
(edit)
Raven: I want to show girls that they can achieve alot in life if they put their minds to it.
(edit)
Raven: I feel strongly that girls need to hear that no matter what your body type is--whether it's naturally skinny or naturally thicky-thick--what really matters is who you are, what you believe in, what you stand for and how you treat others.
(edit)
Raven: My fans know I love my cheese grits with shrimp, and I'm not giving them up to be a size 2. They know I wear a weave to make my hair look right and I don't always look glamorous all the time. I don't even worry about that type of stuff that much. You're not going to see me with clothes that just let everything hang out. And it's not because of my size, but because it's just not me.
(edit)
Raven: I don't let anything over-power me.
(edit)
Raven: I think that I do have people that look up to me and watch me on television and see every step that I make. I think it's fabulous and I love it and that's what drives me!
(edit)
Raven: My parents always trusted me and I am very lucky.
