Executive producer Eric Coulter believes Ken Stott was the natural choice to play Rebus.
“Ken is a fantastic actor. He has the right mix of darkness and humour which was essential for the role, and of course he comes from the right city." In a gentle dig at the casting of John Hannah in the first season, he added: “Our Rebus is close to the character in Ian’s books. He is a troubled soul with a drink problem whose love life never seems to work out. He loves winding people up and gets a buzz from being difficult but he is a good inspector and works intuitively to solve crime." (edit)

The FallsGreat "Well written" This is the first Rebus episode staring Ken Stott as DCI Rebus and he is a fine choice for the part. In The Falls he tries to catch a killer on a mission who leaves scary trails by his/hers victims. Continue » Posted Feb 27, 2008 11:11 am PST |
