*Why did Mrs. Marcall set the house on fire when her husband wasn't home?
*Left-handed Laura holds golf clubs as a right-handed person would.
*After the first glass of wine, or even the first couple of sips, it should become pretty obvious the bottle is not poisoned. Why did Steele have to finish all four bottles if he hated being drunk?

*Claude Rains didn't do anything with wine in Notorious. There was a scene involving a bottle of wine and a character, Emil Hupka, who freaked out when he saw it, but it had nothing to do with identifying a suspect; Mr. Hupka knew some wine bottles contained Uranium and simply got scared as he had already been on the edge. However, Mr. Hupka was killed soon after because he was no longer reliable. This mistake brings us to another question - did Steele ever see Notorious? He is drunk in this episode, when he quotes it, but he will erroneously quote it again in "Steele Away With Me", being dead sober.

*Mrs. Marcall had a great reason to have the car re-geared, but how did she explain the need to do in at 3 in the morning? Not to mention she had to find somebody to rig the exhaust system and to shot at Malcolm while she was in the hospital.

*The person that injects poison through the cork and the person that delivers the wine to Marcal's house are dressed the same, even though the two events are a day apart – providing we're shown the events in order of occurrence []
  • The name of the wine featured in the episode, St. Jacques DuPar, was a nod to Du-Par's--a famous L.A. coffee shop, located a block away from the studio and MTM Productions. Co-creators Michael Gleason & Robert Butler had their first meeting about the Remington Steele project there. []
  • Laura: I couldn't possibly tell you without blushing. Suffice it to say that we both ended up on the floor. []
  • Steele: Never could skate, weak ankles. Wonderful how I snuck my arm around you, eh? []
  • Steele: I rather enjoyed being a Peppler, shame about the divorce. They were so good together, those two.
Laura: They are, aren't they? []

  • Laura: What's wrong with Peppler? I'm a Peppler. You're a Peppler. He's a Peppler...she's a Peppler. Wouldn't you like to be a Peppler, too?

Laura parodies a famous Dr. Pepper ad campaign of the 70's & 80's. []
