Full Recap

Selected skits:

Speak Up:

You know those ads where they tell you to speak up when you have the chance? This is a parody of the dinner speech one.

Just like in the ad everyone waits for the toaster to say something. Unlike in the ad, when everyone starts to talk, he finally figures out what to say. He then gets pissed off at everyone because now no one will listen.

Tagline: Vote next time.

Rick's Rant:

Election night, which means Rick is like a kid at Christmas. Nobody knows what will happen, but whatever we get it will be "really strange and may not live long".

It's kind of like when the big US TV stations roll out the new comedies for the season.

If we get another Liberal minority goverment, then people will wake up on Tuesday and say:

"Wow! Why don't we save outselves $250 Million, we'll all pick a date to get together and smack ourselves in the head with a hammer and we'll get the same results."

No matter what happens, "at the end of the day, not a single shot was fired. And that my friends ... that's a country worth voting for."

The Liberal Party Tour:

Rick goes on tour with the Liberal party plane in Saskatoon. He describes the event party as "like a wake" while getting a shot in a Shelia Copps.

On the plane they have a Hawaian theme ... hmm, just like Stephen Harper had several weeks before.

Rick gets Paul to "audition" for a future career on TV.

The Conservative Party Tour:

Rick goes on tour with the Conservative bus. For the record, the "blue tour" has the worst bus snacks of all three parties.

In St. John Rick meets two pretty Harper "groupies":

Rick: When Harper speaks, he sends his aides into the audience to find the best looking girls, and then he brings them backstage and asks them to save themselves for marriage.

We learn in this bit that Stephen has truely become more human like. They end up on a plane where Rick finally gets a chance to talk to Stephen.

Stephen Harper: (noticing Rick) Oh my God!
Rick: Now this is an election night special that I'm shooting here tonight. In fact this is going to broadcast on election night, so the polls are closed. Barring any unforeseen disasters you're going to be the Prime MInister in a couple of hours. Will you let Peter Mackay hole now?
Stephen Harper: (Laughs honestly) You're not, you're not tricking me Mercer.

Priceless!

The NDP Tour:

Rick goes on tour with the NDP bus. He mocks the orange scarves and shows the kids how to sneak into a rock concert.

He ends up behind the video screen and makes shadow puppets, which no one seems to notice. Which is even funnier since he was actually doing it during the rally.

Steve Page from the Barenaked Ladies was at this particular event, support his NDP leader.

When Rick meets with Jack one-on-one, Rick berates him for playing the old '60's classic hippie songs.
