Robert bought Hollywood Professional School and renamed it Tinsel Townsend Studios. Unfortunately, the studio was fully destroyed in a earthquake during the mid 90s. (edit) Robert was honored with an Honorary Doctorate by Georgia State University. (edit) Robert has developed his own foundation called The Robert Townsend Foundation. It gives back to up-and-coming and established artists. (edit) As a youngster, Robert dreamed of being a basketball player but wasn't really good at it.
