The best choices for life after Bob Barker would be Tom Bergeron or, believe it or not, Jerry Springer. They both have not only great hosting experience and personas, but have marvelous senses of humor in general and about themselves, seem to genuinely like people, and have great people skills. The other candidates being considered may have one or two of these qualities, but none other then Bergeron and Springer have all of Bob Barker's best qualities, which is what carried the show for so many years. A wrong choice of host could kill the show for good. Bergeron was terrific on "Hollywood Squares" and now on "Dancing with the Stars," and Springer is the master of controlling insanity on "The Jerry Springer Show" and a wonderful new host on "America's Got Talent." If either one were available, CBS should jump at the chance to hire either one of them!

Either Drew Carey or George Hamilton could pull it off. Hamilon has gotten a lot of face time on daytime TV with his snack food commercials and silly looking chaps. Ultimately, this is a really difficult feat to pull off and could lead to show cancellation. The new host will have to kind if "make it their own"

This is a bizarre topic. It is hard to imagine so much discussion about a daytime gameshow. As Evil_Dead_Ash says, Bob Barker is the "Price is Right". I suppose Drew Carey would be a decent replacement. Maybe another old guy that holds a mic well would do: such as George Hamilton or John O Hurley (J Peterman from "Seinfeld").

What the? This is stupid. Bob Barker was the Price is Right basically. The series will be lucky to last 1 or 2 seasons without him.

If Rosie or Drew (both obnoxious) are selected for TPIR, not only will the show JUMP THE SHARK; it will be eaten by the shark. I do see a fin breaking surface!

Absolutely no one can fill in the impossibly gigantic shoes of Bob Barker. Any new host for the price is right would cause an uproar. The Price is Right IS Bob Barker. Just like Jeopardy IS Alex Trebeck and Wheel of Fortune IS Pat Sajak. They just can't be replaced. Reruns will do just fine. Ya got 30 years worth of them, not like you'll run out anytime soon...

both drew and rosie are not good choices but if i had to pick one i would definitely pick drew over rosie...rosie would not be filling half of bob parker's shoes

At one point they were talking about George Hamlin replacing Bob. I think that would work best. They both have that same laid back energy, and the females that make up the majority of the viewers would love him. My vote is for GH.

I think George Hamilton or Mario Lopez sounded good. Rosie??? I don't think so. I find she'll get bored in a few months and start looking less and less intersted. I hope not Drew Carey. He just isn't game-show material. I'd hate to watch him everyday. I really would. He's not very funny unscripted.

I think it should be anyone but a comedian, its a game show not a comedy show. John O'Hurley would be OK but Gilbert Godfrey is too much of a comedian as is Drew Carey. Rosie because of her political babble also is a no good.

Drew Carey barely did anything on Whose Line is it Anyway. All he did was read cards and ask for suggestions, oh and don't forget push a buzzer button. Rosie, maybe 10 years ago I'd have liked to see her have a whack at hosting TPiR, but now NO WAY. I want someone young, but good to host the show; someone that can be there for 35+ more years. Maybe Todd Newton or Marc Steins. Ian Ziering would also be a good choice...he was great on DWtS.

Give it to Drew, If Rosie takes over she will spout her leftist agenda all over the airwaves!

I think Gilbert Godfrey would make a good host of 'Price Is Right'.

I went to the Vegas TPRI show, and after seeing Todd Newton host, I think he would be a great replacement. Rosie doesn't have the grace to do it. O'Hurley is too slock, Steines has no presence, and the George hamilton rumor has to be a joke. Drew Carey would have to bite his lip to keep from making fun of the ocntestants. But Newton has the right mix of poise and humor to handle it.

John O'Hurley would be good but also i think Regis should come back to game show territory and do it... ANYONE BUT ROSIE OR DREW CAREY!

Honestly, the best candidate I have seen so far was Ricki Lake...she did that classic gameshow special on CBS which included TPIR. Would be ten times better than Rosie

Out of those two, I would rather like Drew Carey to host. But even though he's hillarious, I don't think his personality would just fit right w/ the price is right. But I thought of 2 other good hosts. JERRY SPRINGER and THE GUY OFF OF SEINFEILD THAT WON DANCING W/ THE STARS. can't remember his name.

Rosie might like the idea of hosting the Price Is Right but I hope that the producers are wise enough to look at her track record and choose someone who is less annoying and much more personable with the audience. Drew Carey didn't do so bad as a host of Who's Line Is It Anyway but I don't think his personality is right for the show.

I almost never watch the show now, and if Rosie became the host, I would definitely not watch it. Hm. Drew Carey; not my favorite person, but I think he'll do a better job than Rosie. I can just see it now with Rosie being the host and bickering at the contestants about not choosing the right door or whatever.

Say NO to Rosie. The show will tank with her.

God help us if Drew Carey became the host. There are only a few people more annoying than him...and none come to mind.

Drew might do okay at the job, and if they want a known name to host it then he'd be the choice I'd pick. Rosie just needs to not be allowed back on television in any capacity.

Both Rosie and Drew are comedians. I don't think they would fit the mold for the type of host that's needed in TPiR. I would still watch the show if any of these 5 people were chosen.
