The show started with Wolfgang giving Greer Garson roses and the announcement of no trap door jokes. After some short bits and the intros, The monologue has Dick wanting John Wayne to come back on the show. The first party segment was next, followed by more short bits and Gladys and Tyrone. Then the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award, more short bits, and the judge. Then Dick tells Dan about a wedding he is going to, and Abbe does a bit about a puppy. A poem by Henry, some 'if ___ married ___' bits, the news where the girls danced like Carmen Miranda, more short bits, and a fey song by Arte. Next was the second party segment, which was all about drinking. Another monologue about Dick's secretary, followed, then the first appearance of Tippy-Toe Tom. Next the cast did several 'that's the way the ____' jokes about musical instruments. Following was a 'Oh, that Henny Youngman' bit and Potpourri. Then Arte did a bird call, and Sock It To Me Time. Mod Mod World was next; it was about man against machines. This included Judy, Goldie and Chelsea singing a song about a machine they made which ended with Dick dressed as Tiny Tim. Following was John Wayne's son Michael insisting his father isn't coming on and the second appearance of Tippy-Toe Tom. Then the judge, a song by Jo Anne, a monologue involving Dick losing weight, Judy at the switchboard, Abbe doing Stranger Than Truth, more short bits, another 'that's the way the ___' bit involving food, the good nights and the joke wall.
