Ryan was nominated for a Golden Rose of Montreux award for Best Actor in a Soap in April 2004. (edit) Although Ryan was cast as Jarrod "Toadfish" Rebecchi on Neighbours, he actually auditioned for the role of Brett Stark. (edit) Ryan is the National Ambassador and MC for the Careers & Employment Expo's. (edit) Ryan starred in 'Honesty' during the 2004 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It was extremely popular resulting in a sell out season and the production breaking box office records. (edit) Ryan supports the Rangers and is a big fan of football. (edit)

Ryan: (On whether Neighbours will survive the future) I don't see why not. I really don't see why not. It's going to be changing, it's going to be going back to it's heartland. I'll stay there for a while. I'll stay there as long as they're happy to have me really. You know or if I get sick of it, either one, but that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully it won't happen either! (edit) Ryan: (On how he got into acting) Umm, I’ve been acting since I was eight doing musicals and comedies. There was a musical company that came to our school, they wanted to use it as a rehearsal base doing Oliver and they needed kids so asked if we wanted to audition, so that’s what I did, it was great fun. (edit) Ryan: (his fondest Christmas memory) Having water fights on our friends’ farm, and our parents’ daggy dancing to ABBA all night long. (edit) Ryan: (on the best Christmas present he’s ever received) What every boy’s favourite present is - their first BMX. I was jumping off gutters pretending to be a BMX Bandit. (edit) Ryan: (on filming the 2006 cliff-hanger on “Neighbours which saw him being shot) These are definitely some of the most dramatic scenes I’ve ever done on the show. I had to try and imagine just how intimidating it would feel to be staring down a gun. I really don’t know if the end result is how I actually would react. I think I’d be a gibbering mess, really!
