Bud Haskins, whose father John is moving large quantities of unmarked automatic weapons as part of his warehouse operation, agrees to help three men crack open the safe in the elder Haskins' warehouse. Bud has had a falling out with his father and wishes to steal some of the money in the safe. When the thieves attempt to steal some of the weapons, Bud is killed trying to stop them. While S.W.A.T. is assigned to investigate the burglary-murder as part of their ongoing effort to locate the source of the weapons, John Haskins recruits his Eastern mob partners to find his son's killers. - Kay: Well, that's another one (automatic weapon) for the collection.
Lt. Harrelson: Yup.
Kay: I don't get it, where are these things coming from?
Lt. Harrelson: I'd give you six month's salary if I knew the answer to that, Deke. edit » - (on the telephone)
Luca: Yes, sir, I understand, sir. Yes. Thank you very much. No, that won't be necessary. That's fine. Thank you. Good-bye. (hangs up)
Street: A real winner huh, Dom?
Luca: Uuh, this guy claims that nothing unusual has happened to him in 14 years since his wife ran off with some guy who came in to shampoo the carpets. Not only that, but he said that business has been so bad that he almost hopes that some thieves do come in and rip him off so that he can collect the insurance money.
Kay: That sounds dishonest. I mean, didn't he know he was talking to a police officer?
Luca: I tried to tell him. edit » - Kay: This is always the hard part, waiting for the second shoe to drop.
Lt. Harrelson: You can say that again.
Kay: It's too bad thieves can't always be acting logically, isn't it?
Lt. Harrelson: Well, Deke, it's all going to add up: the $6,000 left behind at the Haskins warehouse; that Haskins kid, his father, the Morton security guard all shot with same weapon; the eastern mob interested in all of it. At some point, it's all going to add up. You can bet on that. I just want to be the first one to get the answer. edit » - (upon apprehension of the thieves and recovery of the jewelry)
Lt. Harrelson: Not a bad day's work! edit » - Street:Well, I'm glad that operation is over. That was some heavy firepower.
Luca: Yeah, especially when it's coming at you.
McCabe: It seemed like there were 20 guys firing at us.
Luca: You mean there weren't? edit »
