Welcome to the Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs guide at TV.com.

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs was an animated TV series that aired from 1986 to 1989. The writer, Marc Handler, was also behind Voltron: Defender of the Universe.

The series is set in the late 21st or early 22nd century, when humankind has reached the stars. There are many outposts and settlement worlds in the galaxy with Old West influenced names, such as "Planet Uma" and "Planet Durango". There are also outlaws, bounty hunters... and sheriffs. Saber Rider is the leader of the Star Sheriffs. The Star Sheriffs are the special operatives of Cavalry Command, they are the law enforcement arm and defense patrol organization out in space, and along the New Frontier. Their main assignment is to protect the Galaxy from the growing threat of the Outriders.

The Outriders are beings from the Vapor Zone Dimension, led by the powerful Nemisis, who have the ability to travel between dimensions. The growing threat of giant enemy Renegade Units forced the Cavalry Command to create RAMROD, designed and constructed by Commander Eagle, and his daughter, April Eagle. Ramrod Equalizer Unit is mostly used as a large spaceship (Vehicle Mode), but it can transform into a shape of 250' high robot (Challenge Phase).

Each episode of Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs begins with the title being displayed, and Saber Rider doing an opening monologue, talking about their whereabouts and the assignments given to them from Cavalry Command. In the conclusion of each episode, Saber summarizes the lesson from the danger they just faced.

The show is a significantly edited and altered version of the Japanese anime series "Bismark" which aired in Japan in 1984.

Nemesis lives on as the Nth Degree. Jesse continues to threaten the Star Sheriffs with the Cobalt Blue Blaster. The Seventh Cavalry flies off to attack the Outrider Planet. But the Nth Degree causes the Planet to swerve out of orbit, putting it on a collision course with Planet Yuma. With Colt still injured, the three other Star Sheriffs fly off to stop the Nth Degree and prevent the collision. They defeat a Renegade Unit, then fly into the Outrider Planet through the barrel of the Cobalt Blue Blaster. Jesse fires a blast while they're in the barrel, but the Ramrod fires in the opposite direction. The two blasts meet, cancelling each other out so that Planet Yuma is safe. Jesse pilots a powerful Renegade unit to attack the Star Sheriffs. Jesse traps the Star Sheriffs until Colt, who is still injured, arrives in the Bronco Buster to save them. Jesse follows the Star Sheriffs to the chamber of the Nth Degree. They defeat the Nth Degree and Jesse and cause the Outrider Planet to explode back into the Vapor Zone before it can collide with Planet Yuma. The New Frontier is safe.
