Actually it's 4 age difference Serena was 14 and Darien(sorry used to dub names) was 18 when they met and trust me I've seen worse in other animes 6 year difference 12 to 18 now thats weird but you still love the animes still

No it's the same in both they start out in the first season as Serena 14 and Darien 18 then in the last season Serena is 16 and Darien is 20 so it's four age difference which isn't as bad as other animes I've seen

Um...Usagi and Mamoru are only three years apart. That's not too big of an age difference, is it?

I don't see it as a problem either, we are used to the facct tht boys/men often are the older ones...but what if...what if they had switched ages, what if Mamoru was younger than Usagi, how would that looked. Would it still be the same, problably not... I have watched [insert shows name here] where the girl is abot three years older than the boy she ends up with, throughout the whole series ppl have said that it's weird and that she is treating him as a brother. This fanbase was totally fine if she got together with another by who was three years OLDER than her . (Even if he hated him for a pretty good while)But the creators decided long ago that she was about to end up with the younger boy. So let's just take this example and try to put Usagi and Mamoru in that same position...how would you react, where would you stand?
