Sailor Moon: Episode Trivia
TRIVIA GUIDE:
- When Sailor Moon saves Molly she gets a cut on her leg, but in her next scene the cut is gone.
- In the original Japanese version the test Serena took was an English test. In the dub it is changed to an Algebra test.
- After Serena and Molly enter the shop Molly's mum is yelling into a Megaphone
'Today only, everything in the store is 90 percent off!' but when she puts down the Megaphone she keeps yelling 'Please feel free to try on anything.'
Her voice is still loud as if she was talking into the megaphone but how can that be if she put it away from her lips. - This episode does not have the Today on Sailor Moon segment.
- •All transformations of the scouts have been edited to remove body lines. There are no Sailor Scouts, but Sailor Soldiers in the original version. •The Sailor Says segments at the end of each episode did not exist in the original episodes, nor did the computer graphics that make the screens change (like the big tiara forming). The Sailor Says segments were removed in seasons 4~5 when a new dubber, CWI, took control. •Luna was originally a teenager like Serena, but obtained a "nanny" character in the dub, smack-down to her British accent. •In the original, Sailor Moon's attack was called "Moon Tiara Action," not "Moon Tiara Magic." •In the original, Serena was Usagi, Darien was Momaru, and Tuxedo Mask was Tuxedo Kamen. •Some scenes were cut, such as a scene of Serena kicking a door while acting like her favorite super-hero, Sailor V, and hurting herself. •Some of the scene where Serena's mother attacked her after seeing her bad grade was cut. •In the original, Serena's school was called "Juuban High," not "Crossroads Junior High." •In the dub, DiC cut out the words "Make-Up" from the end of Serena's transformation, making it just "Moon Prism Power" instead of "Moon Prism Power Make-Up!" •Queen Beryl is talking to the "Negaforce," but in the original, this Negaforce is really a sleeping empress named Metallia. Also, in the original, it was the "Dark Kingdom," not the "Negaverse." •In the original, the Game Center (arcade) was called the Crown Arcade. •Instead of being just "monsters," they were called Youmas in the original. •At the end of her transformation, Sailor Moon makes a V simbol over her eyes. This was originaly Sailor V's pose. •When Sailor Moon does the "In the name of the moon" speech, Sailor Moon makes the sign for 'I Love You" with her hands. You know with thumb, index and pinky out. •"Saban" ("Power Rangers")decided to make their own Sailor Moon, that mixed, CGI, Live Action, and Cartoon in one. "Luna" was white, while the "scouts" were mixed of races, and even in a wheel chair. People weren't to keen on the idea, and DiC decided to pick and "Dub" 65 original episodes, rather than the US making their own Sailor Moon series (ala "Power Rangers"). This would explain the Sailor Moon Car/Fighting Mobile that they had as a toy, in which the Japanese Series had no indication of a Sailor Moon Car, because it was actually Saban's them design. •More changes were made to Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R than Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon Super S because of DICs more strict rules •According to the DIC Promo tape, thanks to the "http://toonamiarsensal.com", Serena was original going to be named Victoria, Amy => Lu, Raye => Dana, Lita => Sela, and Mina => Carrie, and Tuxedo Mask => The Masked Tuxedo. Queen Beryl and Luna kept their names. •Have you noticed that when Serena's little red things that are on her hair and they flash and she hears Molly's voice? Well, this doesn't happen in any other episode at all!! •In the Manga, Serena is called Bunny.
- In the jewelry store, Molly said to Serena "Where are you going?", but Serena showed no indication of wanting to go anywhere.
- There are currently no trivia for this episode.
- With this episode, we learn how badly Serena can sing and this will carry on through the rest of the series.
- •Two episodes before this and after "Slim City" were skipped. The first one advanced the plot slightly, explaining how Luna became Serena's new pet. However, Sammy is afraid of cats. The episode was skipped because Sammy kicked Luna. Luna also tossed a cute animal over a fence (though the animal was evil). The second episode was skipped because Serena used "Disguise Power" to turn into an adult, quite prostitute-resembling. She also used her new look to sneak into a bar, where she ordered a root beer, not to mention getting in the car with a man she just met. Not a very good influence, eh?
•A scene of Serena clobbering Melvin with a streamer is cut, but it can still be scene in the "Sailor Says!" at the end of the episode.
•When Serena sees the monster and runs away, a scene where she accidentally runs into the male restroom is cut.
•The big pink music notes that float from the juke box when Serena and Molly are singing the 'Sailor Moon' theme didn't exist in the original.
•The reason Sailor Moon used 'Moon Tiara Vaporize' instead of the normal 'Moon Tiara Magic' was because, in one of the skipped episodes, Sailor Moon threw the tiara and the dust sprinkled down and healed hypnotised people. Since DiC skipped the episode, they changed the name of the attack temporarily.
•much like the japanese version Serena and Molly are singing to the opening theme. But in Japan, they didn't have to worry about singing about 'Sailor Moon' since the opening theme for season 1-4 dosn't even mention Sailor Moon.
•In the, "Today on Sailor Moon" segment, DIC uses two scene from the prior episode, Slim City.
•This is the last episode where it is just Sailor Moon.
•Because some stuff is cut out of every DiC episode, an extra scene with Queen Beryl was added in this version. She did not appear in the Japanese version of this episode.
•the song "I Wanna be a star" plays in this episode.
- This marks the first episode for Amy/Sailor Mercury.
- •When Luna checks out the arcade and enters her password is, I love tunafish and fieldmouse pudding. In the original the password is: the rabbit of the Moon pounds rice.
•. -In the English version, Luna says that they can take the disk to a computer store and look at it. In the Japanese version they go back to school and use the school's computer.
•Serena uses the Luna Pen to become a superintendent, in the orignal she becomes a nurse.
•Sailor Mercury's transformation is edited to show no nudity.
The Original spelling for Amy's name is Ami, and pronounced "Ahmee"
•When Mercury transforms, as the mercury symbol is spining forward, if you pause the footage, Amy's Body lines were not erased.
Mercury Power, Make Up! was shortened to just "Mercury Power".
•Mercury's attack, "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" is originally "Shabon Spray"
- It doesn't make any sense that the school's computer was changed to a computer store for the American version. What computer store will allow a 14 year old girl and a cat use one of their computers?
- When Serena and Amy visit the clock store, one of the clocks is a little castle with mini Serena and Darrien figures dressed as royalty.
- When Negatime is aging Serena back to her 14 year old self, the shot shows Serena being taller than Amy, however when it shows them both walking out of the building, Amy is taller than Serena.
- Raye/Sailor Mars has low heels on her feet instead of long boots like ami and serena.
- Rayes name is spelled Rei in the Japanese version
- Raye acts like shes in love with Tuexdo Mask when she and Serena are in the allusion.
- On the VHS for this epsiode, it has on the cover, Mars facing off a man in a hooded cloak. The man looks exactly like Wiseman from the second half of Sailor Moon R. In fact, he may very well BE Wise mand, for he's holding an orb, just like he does in R.
- There are currently no trivia for this episode.
- In the original Japanese dub Zoisite is a male. In the English dub he has been changed into a female and the spelling of the name has been changed to "Zoycite".
- Serena's transformation starts before she says 'Moon Prism Power.'
- Molly says to Serena 'thanks for coming over' right after an exterior shot of Serena's house!
- The English version is supposed to exclude anything sexual or drug related, however it shows the burning of a cigarette disgarded from a business man.
- Terri Hawkes' first appearance.
- (applies for both versions) How come Serena didn't think of using the disguise thing for the contest before?
- (applies only for US dubbed version) In the contest the sign above the contestants reads '92. However, in America the show began '95, so the '92 doesn't make sense.Edit: The japanese dub was in 1992. I guess DiC didn't edit it.
- Goof: When the days evil monster throws the photo snap of Luna and Peter Fisher, the shot that zooms on her hands shows them without gloves on, when it goes back to her body she has her gloves on.
- RE: below goof: in the sentai(original) he said Sailor V
- When Sammy looks in the reflection and sees Mika, she mention Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus isn't even real yet.

- The fourth king in Beryl's army is shown in this episode. In the original Japanese dub his name is Kunzite. In the English dub it's been changed to Malachite.
Edit: They're not kings, they're generals. - When Malachite is rubbing Zoisite's head he is wearing white gloves, but when he warns Zoisite not to disobey Beryl he isn't wearing gloves anymore.
- During her daydream in the pool, Molly calls Nephlite by his real name, which she is not supposed to know yet.

- Litas name in the Japanese version is Makoto (Her friends call her Mako).
- Tracey Moore's final appearance as the voice of Serena/Sailor Moon. As of Episode 22 to Episode 82, Terri Hawkes becomes the permanent voice actor for Serena/Sailor Moon.
- Lita: I can't believe Raye and Amy refused to come, Sailor Scouts can't go on strike!
This would make sense, only Raye and Amy were nowhere near the area at the time!
In the original version when Makoto (Lita) was running towards the battle, she was making reference to the battle being at the cemetary, with no reference of Mercury and Mars abandoning Sailor Moon, this was most likely changed due to it's reference to death, as were most death references were changed the first 2 seasons. - When Raye is saying that they got help from Tuxedo Mask, she was thinking as in terms that they couldn't have done it on their own. It doesn't really qualify as a goof.
- the girls are talking about their last battle and Lita/Mako/Sailor Jupiter says that the last monster was no trouble for her and Sailor Moon to defeat and Raye thinks "Yeah with a little help from Tuxedo Mask" but in the battle in question Tuxedo Mask was not present!!
- Lita: I can't believe Raye and Amy refused to come, Sailor Scouts can't go on strike!
- During the episode, Sailor Moon hands Greg a picture of Ami eating a burger. But at the end of the episode, when he hands it back to Ami, the lettuce on the burger in the picture is gone.
- In this episode, Amy finds a love interest in Greg, which is also referred to in "Day of Destiny"

- In a scene where Melvin is moving the joysticks and pressing buttons at the Arcade, you could see the Street Fighter Logo. You have to look closely to see it.
- When Luna is apologizing to Serena, there is a reflection in her window!
- Mina's name in the Japanese version is Minako.
- Re: In the japanese version there is a close up of Minako(Mina)as she over hears Usagi(Serena)and Makoto(Lita) but in the dub the changers cover her face.
- If you pay close attention when Serena is crying that she's the only Sailor Moon, before the tiara graphic, you'll be able to see Mina and Artemis. [you'd probably have to watch this in slow motion]
- There are currently no trivia for this episode.
- Luna misspoke when she was briefing the Sailor Scouts about the old days, she refered to Princess Serena as Princess Serenity.

- When Chad is blocking the path of the icy wind being blown by the Nega monster, his expression totally changes from when he is blocking it to when he is frozen!
- After Ray is accused of being Sailor Moon, Serena says "I'm Sailor Moon," right in front of Chad!
- Ray asks the Negaverse Monster if the contest was 'totally bogus' and Blizzard replies yes. However the contest was created before since there was a winner speaking as a guest.
- Serena's ski equipment changes from red to blue after the commercial break.
- In this episode, a supercomputer is required to determine the identity of the Sailor Scouts. In a later episode, however, Rini's mom identifies Serena as one of the Sailor Scouts(The exact quote is "It's okay, honey. You just stay with Serena and the other Sailr Scouts for a while.").

- There are currently no trivia for this episode.

- Towards the end, Sailor Moon starts speaking, but her mouth doesn't start moving until she's halfway through a sentence.
- Important Censorship information is that in the Japanese version this part of the storyline was made up of two episodes that was merged as a single episode in the dub and in the Japanese version the Sailor Scouts, were killed in battle which was changed to being captured by the Negaverse to cover that up and the death scenes were removed.
- In SM says, the show a deleted scene with the scouts spirits, but the voices are all screwed up.
