Like any anime fan I personally prefer to watch Sailor Moon in it's authentic language Japanese. Because you get the full benifit, for one thing the soundtrack kicks ass it is just beautiful, from the theme song to my favorate portion of the soundtrack is the transformation sequence each character just has a different tune which fits their character, it just gave me a good feeling inside hearing it. It's uncut not just in certain things you haven't seen before but mainly in dialog which really gives more depth to the story and makes the characters human.
I remember seeing the english dub of the show when I first begin watching the show. I mean the casting of the voices was pritty good, each actor and actress seem to a good job, if not a perfect job at it (I like Katie Griffin who did Sailor Mars I thought she sounded great). However some of the things I can't really stand about the english dub version of Sailor Moon right now is the fact that they replaced the soundtrack, like that darn theme song (who the heck wrote it), the music on transformations was ok but it wasn't anything memorable or catchy. Not just were scenes edited but worst of all most of the dialog was cut which I think really robbed us of story. But the one thing I hated the most was they really miscast the people to play Luna and Artimis. I mean they sound almost middle aged in the English version, the company really didn't do their research very well on those two characters. In the Japanese version (and trust me they sound so much better in that one) Luna and Artimis sound like people in the late 20's, and I felt those kind of voices in the Japanese version really fit them because you really have that sense both of them are experenced and yet there is sort of a youthful quality attached to them.
So you get my point, I prefer the orginal Japanese version, because it's the real deal.
