Sandra Oh
Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Sandra Oh started ballet lessons at the age of four and performed in her first play at the age of ten. She started working professionally at age sixteen in television, theatre and commercials.

After three years at the prestigious National Theatre School of Canada, she beat out more than 1000 other hopefuls and landed the coveted title role in the CBC telefilm The Diary of Evelyn Lau, based on the true story of a tortured poet who ran away from home and ended up a drug addict and prostitute in Vancouver. Her performance brought her a Gemini

More (Canada's Emmy) nomination for Best Actress and the 1994 Cannes FIPA d'Or for Best Actress.

Oh won her first Genie (Canada's Oscar) for her leading role in Double Happiness, a bittersweet coming-of-age story about a young Chinese-Canadian woman. She moved to Los Angeles in 1996 to begin the first of six seasons as Rita Wu, the smart and sassy assistant on the HBO comedy series, Arli$$, for which she won a Cable Ace Award for Best Actress in a Comedy. Most recently Oh starred in Sideways for director Alexander Payne, and in the independent films Cake, Wilby Wonderful and 3 Needles.

Never straying far from her theatre roots, Oh has also starred in the world premieres of Jessica Hagedorn's Dogeaters at the La Jolla Playhouse and Diana Son's Stop Kiss at Joseph Papp's Public Theatre in New York, a role for which she received a Theatre World Award. She was also recently seen in the Vagina Monologues in New York.

    lover her character hide show

sandra oh..Oh!! I just love her character in greys anatomy.Shes a young doctor who is no doubt very well dedicated to her job. She keeps me laughing on the episode were she undergo a surgery then after one day post op, she walks out into her room then started working.Disregarding her condition and the IV that is hooked in her hand. She even wrote on her own chart but the fun part is when she ended up sobbing but she couldn't stop crying so she asked for a sedatives to calm her down. Then after that she realize I think that she's on the state of denial..she just lose her baby and her fallopian tube.

I don't think this Sandra Oh character is at all as good as some people like to think. I actually think she is kind of creepy looking and scary. I have seen her on that hospital show and also have seen her on other things. I do not think she was at all as good on either one of her works. The thing that gets to me is the fact that she isn't funny nor very convincing as a serious actor. That is my opinion, so I know that others won't see it the way I see it. That's what I think. Thank you.

Sanda Oh has to be one of the most talented actresses around in my opinion. She has class and attitude, and the role she plays, Christina Yang, is perfect for her. Her career is going nowhere but UP! hide show

Although she may not be really popular no (though she is getting there) she has to be one of the best actresses I have seen these many years. Not that I have seen her in anything but the role she plays in Grays Anatomy. However is she can act with the same diversity and passion as she does when she plays Christina Yang… my friends we have a major star on our hands. I believe that she completely out shine her co star Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey), unlike Ellen's character Christina has presents and is extremely funny to watch. Christina is my favorite character on Grey's Anatomy because of such a great job Sanda does of playing her.
