Sandra was nominated in 2008 for a SAG Award along with her Grey's Anatomy castmates for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. (edit) On Grey's Anatomy, Sandra's character Cristina is actually seven years younger then her. (edit) At the 2005 Screen Actors Guild awards, Sandra presented the award for 'Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a TV Comedy' to Teri Hatcher, who had won the award. A year later, Teri was presenting the very same award, and it went to Sandra, for her work on Grey's Anatomy. (edit) In Dancing at the Blue Iguana, her character moved from California to work in Seattle. Coincidentally, Sandra's Grey's Anatomy character did the same thing. (edit) Although she is of Korean descent, Sandra doesn't mind when she is asked to play a character who is of any Asian descent. (edit)

Sandra: I think all women should learn how to strip - it's a really healthy, extremely challenging thing to do. (edit) Sandra (whether she‘d make a good doctor in real life): I don’t think I’d be a very good doctor. I have a more scattered personality. I also have a personality that’s emotionally involved - that’s my job (as an actor), you know what I mean? I think I might be too involved with what happens. (edit) Sandra (on her Grey’s Anatomy character, Cristina): The relationship between Cristina and Burke has really grown. It’s nice to see a woman who can’t commit and who is emotionally stunted, because there’s a lot of us who are. (edit) Sandra: You just don't care about what people think. But it's hard to do because people tell you what they think all the time. It's sort of nuts. We actors, we're a fragile bunch, and yet we need to be strong because 90% of our lives is rejection. You have to figure out what really is important. (edit) Sandra: I always think it would be so nice to go to the beach and sit and write in my journal, but it never happens. (edit)
