Jimmy Carter: You know, there are a few things I would like to forget, however: the rabbit, Billy, the Ayatollah, my mother...
(edit)
Raheem Abdul Mohammed: That mustache makes you look weird.
Ron Howard: And I'm not cutting off my mustache for you, the public, or anybody else, you understand, because I like it.
Raheem Abdul Mohammed: Anything else?
Ron Howard: Well, the next film that I'm going to be directing...
Raheem Abdul Mohammed: Yeah, but look look look, man, nobody cares about the movies you're directing. I mean, really, who cares about Splash? (edit)

Toward the end of "Opie's Back," Ron Howard mistakenly calls Floyd the Barber "Otis." Eddie Murphy, playing Floyd the Barber, corrects Ron, who snaps back, "I told you I couldn't recognize you."
(edit)
Aunt Bea: Opie! What the hell are you doing here? We heard you bought it in 'Nam. Opie: Oh no, that wasn't me, Aunt Bea. That was The Beaver.
Rumors had circulated that Jerry Mathers, star of TV's Leave It To Beaver, was killed in the Vietnam War. Jerry Mathers actually served stateside in the Air Force Reserve during the war. The rumor was likely caused by a source misidentifying a real Vietnam War casualty, Sergeant Allen Mathers (no relation), as "Private J. Mathers." (edit)
