J.D. tries to amuse the neighbor by leaving Rowdy outside, but he doesn't think it's funny. Carla gets him and Turk over to Elliot's place. She is being kicked out by her Dad and is packing her stuff.
J.D.'s life is going better. He tries to convince Dr. Cox that cellulitis is easy to be confused with necrotizing fasciitis. Dr. Cox is more upset about getting back together with his ex-wife recently. J.D. thinks Dr. Cox is wrong but it turns out Dr. Kelso is so proud J.D. managed to do a one-in-a-million diagnosis. Dr. Kelso is amused that Dr. Cox didn't get the diagnosis right. J.D. reckons this is one of the top three moments of this life.
J.D. is now highly regarded around the hospital but Dr. Cox thinks it was just because he is such as nerd to watch the medical programs on TV. J.D. insists that one just needs to put your mind to it and it's simple. Jordan has come to the hospital for her amnio and Carla wonders why Perry keeps on going back to her even though Jordan shoves him around. Turk tells Carla she has the habit of telling people how to lead their life. Carla doesn't believe it. Elliot is up set of losing her glamorous life and thinks the others are lucky they haven't had to lose it before.
Laverne informs Dr. Cox that there have been two patients admitted who show the identical symptoms. As he still believes J.D.'s catch was a fluke they decide to take one patient each and see who comes out at the top.
At the cafeteria, Carla tells Dr. Cox she shouldn't be back with Jordan. Turk is not happy about it, and Jordan confronts Carla about meddling in her business.
Elliot's patient Mr. Bragin is back in the hospital. His cancer is gone, and nine months ago he was wrongly diagnosed by Elliot. Ted tells her later that Mr. Bragin is suing her for malpractice.
J.D. has a look at Dr. Cox's TTP patient and finds they are both doing the exactly same treatment. Dr. Cox doesn't care they both did the same treatment but right then Dr. Kelso informs J.D. that his patient coded. J.D. doesn't know why his patient died. Perry says he has forgotten about one thing but J.D. doesn't want to hear it. Instead he tries to rush the autopsy. The autopsy reveals there was nothing unusually wrong with the patient.
Elliot wants to know why she is being sued to Mr. Bragin explains how he ended all his life's matters such as job, relationship because he thought he was dying. She goes to see Ted about the situation who is not happy to hear that she has discussed the lawsuit with Mr. Bragin, antagonized him, and even admitted fault.
Carla says sorry to Jordan but doesn't mean it. Jordan knows that and also knows her kind of type. Carla is the kind of person that sees other people's problems but never takes a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Then Jordan's amnio triggered premature labor even though she is only 24 weeks.
Turk wants Carla to go in her room to apologize. However, Dr. Cox is already in there and she sees them happy together. J.D. goes to see Perry about what he did wrong with his patient but Perry is not happy about the way he didn't want to hear about it earlier.
Elliot goes to see Mr. Bragin and tells him he blames everything on other people, like him not liking his job. She is exactly like him and he is happy to hear she is going to change, but is still suing her.
Turk manages to amuse the neighbor with a Rowdy joke but Carla is more concerned that she can't stop telling people what to do. Turk is ok with it, because he loves her.
J.D. is still looking for the answer to his problem, while Carla joins Turk in a Rowdy joke and Elliot starts packing her things to move out. Dr. Cox tells J.D. he forgot about luck. He was lucky to have watched that medical show the other day but it was unlucky that his patient went the other way even though he did absolutely everything right. Perry also admits he was looking over J.D.'s shoulder all the way, not as a favor, but as his job demands it.
