J.D. and Elliot's relationship is still rocky after he broke her heart before Turk and Carla's wedding. A new attending psychiatrist, Dr. Molly Clock arrives at the hospital with a spaced-out personality that is off-putting to the staff. Upon meeting J.D., he introduces himself as "Johnny", rather than his regular "J.D." This mistake on J.D.'s part lingers on long after she "commits it to memory forever". J.D. extends an offer to talk and get to know Dr. Clock until he hears Turk's car horn, signaling his and Carla's return from their honeymoon. J.D. and Turk run to greet each other, and after a few wrong turns they finally meet in the hallway.
J.D. begins to notices changes after Turk and Carla return from their honeymoon that he is not initially receptive to. The next morning, J.D. wakes up to his "Sugar Hill Gang" alarm clock and to the beginning of his last week as a resident. Upon his arrival to the hospital, J.D. lucks out with the Janitor and feels like he can do no wrong. Dr. Clock is getting to know her colleagues and committing their names to memory and it finally sets in for J.D. that in seven days, he would be a full-fledged doctor.
This milestone was a big deal for J.D. and he thought it would just as important to Dr. Cox. Dr. Cox responded with one of his trademark speeches, this one about things he cares as little about as their last week together. Carla wants Elliot to come over and look at wedding pictures later, but Elliot is unsure because J.D. will be there. Dr. Clock joins the two for lunch and her and Elliot instantly connect after sharing similar hobbies of singing to their food. Carla promises that she and Elliot will do something together later this week and receives a page, forcing her to depart. Elliot opens up to Dr. Clock and is invited to join her for coffee tonight. Not seeing the potential for getting to know Dr. Clock, Elliot turns her down saying she's "hitting the internet hard for a friend hunt".
J.D. sends off a patient to surgery and goes to Turk and Carla where he hears about the destruction of his car. Carla wants to get a new Mini Cooper, but Turk expresses his disapproval. She gives in and lets Turk make the decision. J.D. is having troubles with a patient going to physical therapy when he over hears Dr. Clock's patient singing the song by Meatloaf, "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" and the two doctors exit the room together. J.D. takes a stand on Dr. Clock calling him "Johnny" but backs
down at the last second. She offers her help but he declines, saying that he thinks Dr. Cox would be upset if he didn't come to him first. He is actually quite annoyed, as usual and J.D. mentions about music in his head. Carla borrows/rescues Dr. Cox from J.D. He tells J.D. to "get used to" being on his own.
Carla attempts to "one-up" Dr. Cox and show him that her and Turk's relationship in its first year is going to be better than his and Jordan's was. Carla goes out to see the new car Turk bought, which ends up being three scooters and is unpleasantly surprised. Dr. Cox leaves laughing. Elliot and J.D. begin talking somewhat again. Elliot is upset she never gets to see Turk or Carla anymore and that J.D. "gets to keep the friends" because he lives with them. Elliot feels left out and the fact that the three are on scooters riding together doesn't help matters.
The quest to get his patient out of bed continues for J.D. and Dr. Clock continues her quest to commit everyone's name to memory. She comes over to assist J.D. and he denies her again when Dr. Cox arrives to help. His help lacks the luster J.D. hoped for. Dr. Cox suggests that J.D. work with people who "want his help". J.D. continues his Scrabble game with the patient after their surgery. Dr. Cox continues his mantra about not worrying about Mr. Radford and leaves for the night.
Elliot arrives at work early and is "greeted" by Dr. Kelso. After Kelso leaves, Elliot and Dr. Clock briefly spar. The ride to work on the scooters is thrilling for J.D. and Turk but not so exciting for Carla. J.D. and the Janitor have a confrontation and the Janitor offers peace from his daily badgering. J.D. gets Mr. Radford into physical therapy and has a run-in with a therapy whirl-pool. A very wet J.D. and Elliot exchange words and Elliot knocks over a scooter who she presumes to be J.D.'s but it ends up being an angry "Italian". Dr. Clock arrives to mediate the situation and brings it to Elliot's attention that she is complaining about having no one to be around but she won't even get a cup of coffee with her.
Turk returns to the hospital after picking up Carla's grandparents from the airport and Carla finally tells Turk what she thinks of the scooters and storms off. J.D. makes an announcement about Mr. Radford getting out of bed and Dr. Clock gives him her take on the situation and on Dr. Cox. J.D. and Elliot run into each other in the hallway, causing Elliot to spill her coffee on Dr. Clock.
Carla desperately wants Turk to return the scooters, but he is against it totally. The couple has their first "fight" and Carla is first to concede, letting Turk keep the scooters. Dr. Clock is still suffering from her coffee burns and Elliot offers to help. J.D. confronts Dr. Cox about Mr. Radford and he gives him a final speech before he becomes a Doctor. Elliot and Molly are connecting in the cafeteria while singing and Turk surprises Carla by trading in their scooters for a Mini Cooper. J.D. rides off on his remaining scooter and is surprised by another trick pulled on him by the Janitor.
