  • J.D. is able to avoid being suspended for working late because he has had no interaction time with the patients and therefore there are no potential liability problems. However, Doug is sent home without pay for working late, despite the fact that he works in the morgue and all of his patients are dead, making it very unlikely that he will be sued for anything he does. edit »
  • In the beginning of the episode when J.D. is talking to Elliot he says "a month ago you were going to marry him...and then it all fell apart when we had that almost moment in the oncall room." However, moments later when he is talking to Dr. Cox he says "A FEW MONTHS ago Elliot and I almost kissed...", clearly contradicting the time frame he had just himself verified. edit »
  • Scrubs fan and myNBC forum user, Angie_from_Canada, appeared as an extra in this episode. We can see her in the background sitting on a couch, reading a magazine, around three minutes into the episode. edit »

  • Janitor: (As the giant) You seem like a nice enough guy. Why are you still working for Lord Oslek?
Ted: (As the hunchback) I tell most people it's because I'm under an evil spell, but really it's a self-confidence thing.
Janitor: (As the giant) Yeah, I get that. Say, you want to go hollow out some villagers and use them as kites?
Ted: (As the hunchback) Do I? edit »
  • Dr. Cox: What is it? And make it quick so you don't bore me.
J.D.: A few months ago, Elliot and I almost kissed, but now she's saying...
Dr. Cox: (interrupting J.D.) Well, you tried your best. Now leave me alone. edit »
  • Nurse Shirley: Hey, why was your baby boy dressed like Caesar this morning?
J.D.: Oh, I don't have clothes for Sam in my house, so I just cut arm and leg holes in a pillow case. The gold belt was just so he wouldn't feel ridiculous. edit »
  • (The Janitor walks around the corner with his shoes untied)
J.D.: Your shoe lace is untied.
Janitor: Eeee, thanks man. Do you know how dangerous this is? My uncle's whole family was killed by an untied lace. They were running down the stairs and they tripped and a mad man hacked them all to pieces, I owe you one.
    J.D.: Can't wait. edit »
  • Elliot: That's funny, I requested someone strong and brave, yet here stands the village idiot.
J.D.: Hey I'm brave, I just saved this fish from drowning. Off you go little buddy. He's tired now, earlier he was dancin' all around...RUN FREE...RUN. edit »
  • Keith is dressed up like the comics character Prince Valiant. edit »
  • The appearance of the "monster" as a cloud of black smoke may be an allusion to ABC's Lost. After this episode, Scrubs will air new episodes on ABC. edit »
  • Dr. Cox: My name is Percival Cox. You're killing my friend. Prepare to die.

This is an allusion to the character Inigo Montoya (played by Mandy Patinkin) from the 1987 movie The Princess Bride, where Inigo was trying to find the killer of his father. He swore that when he met the killer, he would greet him with: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." edit »
