the main character is jd he is a real daydreamer he is the narrator hide « show »

The show's narrator and main character is John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff), a young attending physician, who begins the series as a staff intern. He develops a close friendship with fellow intern and later private practice physician Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke); their relationship becomes romantic on several occasions. Elliot is driven by a neurotic desire to prove her abilities to her family (in which all of the males are doctors), her peers, and herself. J.D.'s best friend is Dr. Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), a surgical attending physician becoming the new Chief of Surgery in season eight. Turk roomed with J.D. at university at the College of William and Mary and medical school, and the two have an extremely close relationship, which is described in season 6 as "Guy Love". During the course of the series, Turk marries Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), the hospital's head nurse, who acts like a mother figure to interns, often hiding their mistakes from their attending doctor. [6]

Two other characters play senior roles in the hospital. Dr. Percival Ulysses "Perry" Cox (John C. McGinley) was the senior attending physician at Sacred Heart and the hospital's Residency Director before becoming the new Chief of Medicine in season eight. J.D. considers Cox his mentor despite the fact that Cox routinely criticizes and belittles him. Cox frequently suggests that this harsh treatment is intended as conditioning for the rigors of hospital life. Ken Jenkins plays Dr. Bob Kelso, Sacred Heart's Chief of Medicine until the end of the seventh season when he is forced to step down from residency when the board finds out about his age, but with the help from his colleagues the decision is reversed. Having had time to think, Kelso decides to retire instead of accepting the reinstatement to Chief. Kelso is cold, heartless and cruel, driven primarily by the hospital's bottom line rather than the well-being of patients. However, it is occasionally suggested that he has a softer side, and that his cruelty is a means of coping with the years of hard decisions, as well as being a Vietnam vet in one of the episodes. he has been forced to make, stating that when he became Chief of Medicine he thought he'd be "the man". Instead he very quickly realized that the harsh decisions made him unpopular, but he had to continue his "evil" facade to keep the hospital running smoothly.

The hospital custodian is known as "Janitor" played by Neil Flynn. An incident in the pilot episode establishes an adversarial relationship between him and J.D., which persists throughout the series. This tends to take the form of the Janitor pulling mean-spirited pranks on J.D

AN Amazing show. My Finale - one of the most perfect endings (atleast 2nd to Friends Finale) hide « show »

An amazing show, the mix of emotional stakes and comedy is what most sucessful comedies are based on. Scrubs has, for some reason, always been underated, and I think My Finale showed everyone what the show was capable of. Even though it is the end for JD, I'd still watch season 9. The stories, the comedy, each character learning something about life from their patients is what made this show enjoyable to watch. The JD and Elliot, on and off relationship, was going too far though. So many shows have tried it and it is completely unecessary (only "Friends" did it well). I happy that they are back together but they should stay like that, get married and have kids (basically Jd's final fantasy)

What I love about Scrubs is that it is really deep, in a superficial sort of way. Way to entertain! hide « show »

The characters in Scrubs are all kind of crazy, and many of the conflicts seem superficial and unimportant, at the first sight. But they are not! What I really love about Scrubs is that it makes me laugh through the entire episode, while at the same time it actually makes me think. I relate to all the characters, and their conflicts. But what makes Scrubs, Scrubs, is not life at the hospital, the crazy patients or the weird doctors. It is J.D. Doctor Dorian is the shows main character and narrator. And he is completely adorable. He over-thinks almost everything, manages to make everything into a fantasy about musicals and he is just very clumsy and good-hearted. He provides warmth for the show. He IS the show. In a way, Scrubs is indescribable. You should all see for yourselves! Be amazed. Be scrubed.

The perfect end to a perfect show hide « show »

With the strange goings on around JD (Zach Braff) everyday even he seems normal in his own worlds in his head adn over the years we have grown to love his character more than most other characters in a sitcom.

Ofcourse he is also backed up with a great supporting cast also with Dr Perry Ullysees Cox and his best pal Chris Turk the mix just seema right. Even when things seemed to be going bad for Scrubs in the mist of the writers strike during season 7 they managed to pound out good episodes due to the high level of comedy but the great balance of emotion on show, this is emphasised with the arrival of season 8.

Ofcourse when season 8 came to a close there were rumblings of the potantial of season 9 but in my eyes the way season 8 finished was the perfect send off, it had a little whiff of the Friends finale but was allot more satisfying as loose ends were wrapped up and new questions were posed.

To me Scrubs has surpassed Friends and Will and Grace in comedy level due to the fact it is that good
