This is a reference to the movie "Fail Safe" starring Henry Fonda. Released the same year, "Fail Safe" is essentially a dramatic version of "Dr. Strangelove." Henry Fonda plays the president, and informs the Soviets and the soon-to-be-dead US Ambassador to Russia that, "the next sound you'll hear will be a high-pitched squeal. That'll be the sound of the ambassador's phone melting..." edit »
Dr. Quinn: Napoleon? As in "Animal Farm"?
"Animal Farm" is a famous novel by George Orwell that, as Quinn notes, uses animals to tell an allegory criticizing Soviet Russia. Napoleon is one of the main characters, a pig who takes control of Animal Farm and becomes a petty dictator. edit »
