I like Bridger, but I think Hudson was the better fit for season 3.

Bridger hands down. I never liked what NBC did to season 3.

This is like trying to decide apples and oranges.

Of course, I loved Bridger. He was a scientist and open to extreme possibilities, preferring military action as a last resort (sounds like he would've been good on Star Trek. ), and preferred peaceful solutions whenever possible.

But I also really liked Hudson, because in the situation that developed while seaQuest was missing, his hard-line military style was what the world needed. He was also open to more unconventional solutions, and never failed to take his officers' opinions into consideration, but when he made a decision, he went after it full-bore. My only gripe at Hudson was his attitude toward Darwin, but Hudson was military, not a scientist like Bridger. Had the series gone on though, I'd bet that Hudson would have come around to embrace Darwin as a valuable crewmember. Darwin certainly proved his usefulness, even in Season 3, when his appearances really dwindled.

I loved the situation in Season 3, because it provided a series of recurring villains, such as President Bourne, Larry Deon, and Mason Freeman. I just wish Season 3 had had a full bite at the apple, so to speak. I WANT Season 3 to come out on DVD!!!!!!!

I agree with you ReclusiveWriter, i remember when i first got a taste of Hudsons approach to commanding the seaquest i found him very aggressive and not to my liking. Nathan Bridger was the best captain seaquest ever had and i really missed the harmony he made with crew members and situations. But now im alot older and have watched shows like stargate and star trek ive become more openminded about charaters on all the tv shows i loved to watch. I now like both captains in seaquest as they both made different command choices for different situations. I will also love bridger but hudson was still a good captain.
