Off topic but do you think people will keep the Kramer (Michael Richards) avatar after his profane
run-in with hecklers recently?  Just interested in how the tirade will
affect Kramer/Seinfeld fans; the affair doesn't bother me either way.
Also, what would you do if TV.com (and other forums who use Kramer's likeness) dropped the avatar image to avoid controversy, even if temporarily till this thing blows over?

Oh, my God!  A famous black man does something wrong in this country, and the public is out for his blood.  A famous white man does something clearly racist in public, and people separate his actions from his career and the show?  What on Earth are most of you condoning & egging on?  What kind of bigoted morons are you?  That's it; I'll never watch that show again.  You are spitting in the face of every African American and saying it's okay for that to happen; this country is going backwards, and it's really scary to be a part of, to experience, to see, and I'm really disgusted now!  Grow up, wake up, smell what you're shoveling, stupid people.

You mean to tell me that if all of you went to one of Richard's shows, he slaps you in the face and spits at you, you'd shrug it off and not feel a thing watching him in that show?  Get Real!

Why are you so into this story? You are really blowing this thing all out of proportion.

People have made mistakes in life and Michael Richards did that. I don't think they should take him off because of what he did. Other actors have done mistake and they're still icons on tv.com, mp3.com, and gamespot.

    Wow!

Micheal Richards is being destroyed in the media. How is it any different like you claim when a black man does something wrong?

You call us bigots because we won't judge a TV series by the actions of Micheal Richards almost a decade after its end. Did you ask everyone you know to boycot the NFL when OJ simpson murdered two people? We aren't bigots, you are just insane.

His carear is done and in another week you will never hear about him again. What is it that you want him to do? Nothing he does will ever be enough for someone like you.

    This is very one-sided.

I picked "no." Seinfeld ended so long ago, and even if it didn't, Kramer is just a TV character.

Seinfeld is still my favorite show, and it will always be. Of course it makes sense to separate that from Michael Richards.

I was glad to go out last week and buy season 7 on DVD. Take that Jessie Jackson!

I said "no" b/c Kramer is a fictional character and had nothing to do with it.

I think you have to separate the actor from the character.Kramer was purely and simply a sit-com character.I think you can still like the character.I still enjoy watching the series even after what happened.Hes an actor who created a unique and memorable TV character.Personally,I dont think Michael Richards is a racist, but he does need help.About Jesse Jacksons idea to boycott the season 7 DVD:Whats the point? You would be punishing Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David more than Richards.Keep the show separate from his personal issues.

yes, the kramer icon will be kept up! and by the way, reneefox, you've already made your opinion here plenty of times, and we all disagree with you, so there's no point talking about it.  this event has nothing to do with the show.

I really think that it's the other way around. People are going out of their way to be politically correct these days and Richards is a prime example of that. Sure he went on a bit of a tirade but at least he doesn't base his whole act around how black people and white people are treated differently (*cough* Chris Rock and 90% of other black comediens). Even with all that, I don't believe that Richards is a racist. I think he just snapped when some people were heckling him and said whatever he could to hurt them as much as he could. On the video on the way out one of the guys called him a "cracka ass" but obviously Ricahrds is the racist one (or does it have everything to do with people wanting to be plitically correct and selectively forgetting that part?) Let's face it, Richards doesn't deserve all this. This poll is ridiculous, people even considering that the Kramer avatar be removed are ridiculous. By the way do all black people live in America and come from Africa? You who so direly want equality for all races should think about how you refer to "african-americans" in the future, lest you be called a racist.

Kramer is an azaming and very popular character so this shouldn't be a hard decision.

Michael Richards apologized for his actions so that should be good enough.

Besides actors and the characters they play are almost never the same. A lot of actors don't like to and refuse to watch their own performances.

I think it is all a little ridiculous how blown out of proportion this was.

I happen to have a lot of black friends and am very much against racism. Then again, though, everytime something happens to a black person, they bring up racism. It gets so ridiculous and aggrivating.

Michael Richards is not racist. He was attempting to be funny and improv with the hecklers. He though that saying what he did would get a laugh and shut them up.

I believed his apology on Letterman was sincere and was very grateful to Jerry to give up his time for him. For those who thought it was insincere, I cannot justly agree in any fashion.

In any regard, I wish Michael Richards the best. I don't think his avatar should be removed because he is a classic TV character, possibly one of the funniest and most beloved. I think his character should have no connection to the actions of the actor.
