George is uncertain about whether his job interview was successful or not, so he decides to go into the office and act like an employee while the boss is on vacation. Jerry is reluctant to dump his old barber even when he is given a real bad haircut. Kramer arranges to get him a clandestine haircut at the apartment of his barber. Newman is charged by Jerry's barber to get a sample of Jerry's hair when he suspects foul play. Add a recap »

- Nitpick: Newman, hiding Jerry's scissors while sitting next to him on the couch, cuts a small sample of Jerry's hair. He then goes around behind the couch and picks up a napkin, opens it and makes sure that the hair is inside. This seems odd. Newman never put a napkin on the floor to catch the hair. And if Jerry happened to have a napkin on the floor (unlikely considering how neat Jerry is known to be), what are the odds that the hair Newman cut would land in that napkin? edit »
- When Jerry leads Gino out to the fire escape, you can see Jerry's bike in the background not moving. In the next shot, it's swaying back and forth. edit »
- If I'm not mistaken, it was Jerry himself who took revenge on Newman, not his barber.
Response: Correct, Jerry is the one who shaves off all of Newman's hair. This is shown when Jerry runs into Newman at the barber shop and grabs the electric shaver. edit » - When Newman comes to Jerry's apartment to get a sample of his hair, why would Jerry tell Gino to sneak out through the fire escape outside his bedroom window when only moments later, after Newman has left, Gino is back in the apartment watching Edward Scissorhands with Jerry? edit »
- The music in the background for many of the scenes in this episode is from Rossini's opera "The Barber of Seville". edit »
- Jerry: So what do you do there all day?
George: They gave me the Pensky file. edit » - Elaine: (auctioning off Kramer) He likes fruit, and uh, he just got a haircut. edit »
- George: I have an idea.
Jerry: Yeah?
George: I show up.
Jerry: Whadya mean, you show up?
George: I show up! I pretend I have the job. The guy's on vacation. If I have the job, it's fine. If I don't have the job, by the time he comes back I'm ensconced.
Jerry: Hmmmmm… Not bad. edit » - Enzo: (to Jerry) You tell-a the joke, I cut-a the hair. edit »
- Kramer: (talking to Newman on Jerry's phone) So, when are you gonna be able to go out?
Newman: (with a shaved head) Not for a while. edit »
- Many times in this episode people discuss the Tim Burton film "Edward Scissorhands." edit »
