George tells Susan the secret of the size of Jerry's jeans and that leads to a fight about all secrets, he tells her another of Jerry's secrets when they make up. - Jerry had to ask what kind of contraceptive method Elaine uses even though they've dated before. edit »
- Elaine makes a big deal about how loyal she is to the sponge and that she can't use anything else. However, in Season 4's "The Virgin" she clearly says that she uses a diaphragm.
In the episode "The Virgin" Elaine discusses how she carries her diaphragm around with her. But in this famous episode, she claims that she must have the Today sponge, she loves the Today sponge. edit » - Unless there is a garden apt (half above and half below) I have never seen any building where the first floor isn't ground level. Every hotel I worked in the lobby is ground level and the next level is called TWO. UNLESS there are garden apt. Where I live my apt is half above and half below ground and is called B-1 (as in basement.) THE NEXT level is the first floor. But it is misleading cause it is only ONE HALF LEVEL up edit »
- Not to beat a dead horse to death but I've been in countless buildings where the ground floor is considered the Lobby--as denoted by the 'L' button in the elevator. Thus, Kramer could most definitely have walked up 5 flights of stairs. edit »
- re: No, not all Europeans does that, it very much varies from country to country... Besides, Kramer doesn't live in Europe edit »
- This episode was nominated for the 1997 WGA Award (TV) for Episodic Comedy. edit »
- The FDA actually did recall contraceptive sponges due to their potential health effects. The FDA in 2003 has allowed the manufacture of redesigned contraceptive sponges. edit »
- The alley where Kramer gets taken down looks very similar (as does the scene) to his fight with the karate kids. edit »
- Jerry states that he cannot be with a "generally good woman who cares for the welfare of others." This may be a foreshadowing of Jerry's fate at the end of the series. edit »
- Two of the people annoyed at Kramer's disrespect for the ribbon are the armoire stealing "tough" guys from "The Soup Nazi" and later "The Puerto Rican Day." edit »
- (George is struggling to open a condom wrapper
Susan: Come on, George, just rip it open.
George: I'm trying, damn it.
Susan: Look, tear it, tear it from the side.
George: I tried to tear it from the side, I can't get a good grip, here, you gotta do it like a bag of chips.
Susan: No, here, give it to me.
George: Would you just wait a second?! Wait a second!
Susan: Will you just give it to me? Give it to me.
(She takes the wrapper from George)
George: You see? You see?
Susan: (tears open the wrapper and hands it back to George) Come on. Come on!
George: (tosses the condom aside) It's too late. edit » - (George is struggling to open a condom wrapper

Bob: So, what's it going to be? Are you going to wear the ribbon?
Kramer: No, never.
Bob: But I am wearing the ribbon. He is wearing the ribbon. We are all wearing the ribbon! So, why aren't you going to wear the ribbon?!
Kramer: This is America, I don't have to wear anything I don't want to wear!
Cedric: What are we gonna do with him?
Bob: I guess we are just going to have to teach him to wear the ribbon!
(Kramer tries to climb up the fire escape, but he is pulled back down by the mob.) edit » - Walker 1: Hey, where's your ribbon?
Kramer: Oh, I don't wear the ribbon.
Walker 2: You don't wear the ribbon? Aren't you against AIDS?
Kramer: Yeah, I'm against AIDS. I mean, I'm walking, aren't I?
Walker 3: Who do you thing you are?
Walker 1: Put the ribbon on!
Walker 2: Hey, Cedric! Bob! This guy won't wear a ribbon!
(Bob and Cedric turn around and glare at Kramer)
Bob: Who? Who doesn't want to wear the ribbon? edit » - George: That condom killed me. Why do they have to make the wrappers on those things so hard to open?
Jerry: It's probably so the woman has one last chance to change her mind.
George: You never run out, do you? edit »
