When Carrie turns 35, all the girls reflect on how it feels like being in their thirties and still single. Samantha is doing just what she likes best: men – her latest attempt is a monk, and despite her unsuccessful attempts to drive him to sin she still manages to have some sex with him, even if it's only in her mind. Charlotte still believes in soulmates. Unfortunately she realizes Trey isn't hers after he ejaculates on her leg ("my soulmate wouldn't do this to me", she whines). Miranda, at first marveled with the greatness of marriage realizes that you don't have to be married to be happy, while Carrie freaks when no one shows up at her dinner party and she goes home feeling depressed and abandoned. Fortunately, Big shows up with a bottle of champagne. And even though he might not be her soulmate, it's good enough for her. After all, not everything is perfect. Not even your 35th birthday. • In the end scene, Carrie asks Mr. Big his age, and she seems surprised to find he is older than 40. Yet earlier in the series Carrie informs the girls he's 45. Also, in season 1 Carrie also referred to him as a "42-year old baby", since he couldn't commit. This is just a continuity error, and the actual age of Mr. Big isn't known for sure up until this point. edit »
  • Carrie: The longer I sat at that table, the more alone I felt. And it really hit me: I am 35 and alone!
    Miranda: You are not alone.
Carrie: No, I know I have you guys, but...and really, I hate myself a little for saying this, but...it felt really sad not to have a man in my life who cares about me. No special guy to wish me happy birthday. No goddamn soulmate. And I don't even know if I belive in soulmates.
Charlotte: Don't laugh at me, but maybe we could be each others soulmates? And then we could let men be just these great nice guys to have fun with?
Samantha: Well, that sounds like a plan.
    Carrie: I'm 35. 35 is not 25.
    Miranda: Thank God!
    Carrie: I'm 35!
Samantha: Oh, shut the f*** up. I'm 140! edit »
  • Samantha: Who do you all fantasize about?
    Carrie and Miranda: Russell Crowe
Carrie: Jinx! You owe me a Coke!
Miranda: That's amazing. What did women do before Russell Crowe?
Samantha and Carrie: George Clooney edit »
  • Miranda: I showed him a boob in a coat check room.
    Carrie: Just one?
Miranda: I sensed he couldn't commit. edit »
  • Carrie: She wants the priest but she can't have him, it's all very "Thorn Birds".

"The Thorn Birds" is a novel by Colleen McCullough, about a Catholic priest and a young woman who have an impossible love affair. edit »
