Sharni: Even though I was quite smart at school, I was always asking why, why did I have to study to the HSC if I was going into the performing arts. Why? My mum was adamant that I had to finish school and my elementary ballet too, in case I had to teach one day. She always said you�ve got to have a back-up plan in case things don�t work out and to have a skill of some sort. edit »
Sharni: You can do acting courses whilst still at school and my advice to kids is to keep going to school while doing your acting as well. I was doing an acting course on the weekends and you can still go for auditions. (for kids who want to act) edit »
Sharni: Cassie is so mature for the age of 15. She has gone through so much and is older in the head than what she realises. Although, at the same time she is also naive because she is young (on her character in home and away) edit »
Sharni: I remember thinking to myself I want this so bad and I set out to get the part. I originally auditioned for the role of Martha and had a re-call for that role but at the same time they sent me scripts for the role of Cassie as well. I thought it was a good sign because I had two chances. edit »
Sharni: When I first started on Home and Away, my character Cassie was a mischievous kid and always laughing. I loved that character, but as the character developed, there was a lot of serious stuff happening. edit »
Sharni (on the origin of her name): I think the nurse in the hospital suggested it. The meaning has something to do with the ocean and Mum thought it was perfect - we�re an ocean and beach-loving family! edit »
Sharni (asked why she gave up swimming to pursue acting): I always did swimming and performing arts, so I don�t feel like I gave up one for the other. My love of swimming kind of went away gradually and my passion for performing arts took over. edit »
Sharni: I�ll wear anything if it�s unique and has a funky feel. I don�t specifically shop for brands, but I think �Milk & Honey�, �Religion� and �Sass & Bide� have cool items. edit »
Sharni: When you�re kissing someone in front of an entire crew, I don�t think you�re actually concentrating on the kiss. It�s more about camera angles and your lines. edit »
Sharni (on playing a character younger than herself): I really enjoy playing a younger character because it means I can relate to some of the teenage issues from my own personal experience. edit »
