Sharon,Lois & Bram, a popular kid-song singing trio got their own show in 1984 after 6 years of making music albums for children. The show was about Sharon,Lois and Bram, three people who lived with Elephant (who was assumed to be male although his role was performed by a woman in an elephant costume) who never spoke but provided slapstick comedy and laughs. They usually had friends (children) at their house and would sing with them and do various activites each episode. The show also frequently featured concert clips of Sharon,Lois & Bram, and many guest stars.
Some episodes taught values or morals and some were just based around the lovable character Elephant. The show ran with new episodes from 1984 till 1988. It didn't produce new episodes in 1985, but had 2 seasons in 1986. The series produced 65 episodes. In the first years of its running it was shown in Canada. Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. picked up the series in the late eighties and reran it in reruns till circa 1996. By then Blue's Clues, Gullah Gullah Island, and other Nick Jr. shows were pushing it off the lineup. In 1997 a followup show called Skinnamarink TV premired. It was altered from the first series to include a talking 7-year-old girl elephant named Ella Accapella, and C.C. CopyCat, a teen-aged cat character. The show ended in 1998 after 2 seasons with a total of 52 episodes.
Lois's husband's died shortly after - she has since left the traveling trio but still records with the group. In 2002, the three were named members of the Order of Canada.
Currently, Bram & Sharon tour and sing under the title "Sharon,Bram & Friends". Sharon,Lois & Bram paved the way for a new generation of children's TV and music, and created their trademark song Skinnamarink which they are probably best known for.less «

  A highlight of my childhood. hide « show »

  Sharon, Lois, and Brahms Elephant show was perhaps my all time favorite show from the time i was 3 until i was about 10, and i am seriously disappointed that it no longer runs (even in reruns) so that i can share it with my own daughter. It combines non-creepy highly entertaining albeit slightly cheesy adult figures with the ever popular Elephant, an animal that i cherish to this day. It introduces childrent to important lessons and even better, comedy and music in a fun, imaginative and special way that sticks with the viewer long after the last episode they ever view. It just takes you back to when things were far more simple and the tackiest things on tv were the clothes the actors wore.

  Its a guilty pleasure hide « show »

  After all these years, I had forgotten about this gem of a show. Now that I remember it, it's hard to forget the classic end song "Skinnamarinky dinky dink skinnamarinky doo. I love you" Now that that's out of my system. I want to give this show a "Bring this show back speech" The show was great for its time period and I'll catch it eventually on TLC. I really want this show to come back on the air. It was and forever will be one of my childhood favorites. I just want it on the air for future generations to enjoy.
