Sheryl Crow: Biography
Sheryl is a famous singer and song-writer. Her most recent album is Detours, which was released in February of 2008, which has been credited as her return to her roots of music, and it's an album that shows all her inner growing since 2005 (whe she released Wildflower), after breaking up with her fiancée, the biker Lance Armstrong, fighting against breast cancer, and having a son.
- Sheryl: Lying on the radiation table, I had these epiphanic moments when I realized that you come into the world alone, you go out of the world alone, and in between that, if you aren't showing up for yourself, you're not living your life.
(edit) - Sheryl: (on what she would like to perform with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham) I'd love to do The Chain and Second Hand News. There's so many great songs that I absolutely love, and just to get to sing harmonies on them is going to be a thrill.(edit)
- Sheryl: (on working with Fleetwood Mac) We definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we'll see what happens.(edit)
- Sheryl: (revealing her adoption of a baby boy on her website in May 2007) I am so excited to share with you guys that I've adopted a little boy ... he was born two weeks ago. His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother ...) and we are enjoying some very private family time.(edit)
- Sheryl: (trying to raise awareness about climate change) I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required.(edit)
- Sheryl: (after being given the all-clear after a lumpectomy and radiation for breast cancer) I'm a walking advertisement for early detection.(edit)
- Sheryl: (on her parents) They're sort of the example for me. I'm really old-fashioned, and I believe in marriage.(edit)
- Sheryl: It was a challenge in more than one way. Not only was I not working, I was in a foreign country where I didn't speak the language, and I'm with somebody who's new to me, and I experienced a lot of vulnerability ... (it) was a challenge to my ego, and in the end, was kind of exciting.(edit)
- Sheryl: I'm not dead. I mean, I may be getting older, but I'm not dead!(edit)
- Sheryl: There ain't nothing like regret to remind you you're alive.(edit)
- Sheryl: Once over there [Balkans], I felt extremely patriotic. Here are these people, from 18-year-olds to military veterans, enduring real duress for the cause of peace. I don't ever want to play for a regular audience again, only military folks who are starving for music.(edit)
- Sheryl: (on war) I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.(edit)
- Sheryl: (on being in a relationship with athletic super-star Lance Armstrong) It's a challenge to be the less visible of the two when you're used to being visible.(edit)
- Sheryl Crow: (referring to her song All I Wanna Do) That's basically, all I want to do is have some fun before I die.(edit)
- Sheryl: I do think I'll have kids. Whether it comes from somebody else's womb and I adopt or whether it's my own, I really have a strong feeling that I will and I think it will be sooner rather than later.(edit)
