Merv's talk show first aired on NBC (1962-1963, then again 1965-1968), CBS (1969-1972), and in syndication afterwards. Merv became a television host after filling in for Jack Parr on the Tonight Show in 1962 which impressed NBC enough to develop the Merv Griffin Show. The rest is history as we say. Beloved, endearing and charming host his OOOOO has become his own personal signature.
